Is it more safe though? That is a good question. I think pretty much that all KOs are going to be equally unsafe, but more if the choke involves windpipe pressure. I think since the triangle targets the carotid directly, it results in a quick KO with little to no windpipe pressure. So you could say it's safer, or more consistent. BUT it has to be executed properly which takes a little bit of learning. Not too difficult though.

The most important part is cutting the angle, which she includes in this video. Tons and tons of session girls just lock the ankle and call it a triangle, the most common mistake, it's not a triangle until you cut the angle
"Cutting the ankle" means: one knee is hooked over the other ankle, right?
