Over here we usually just read about Wenger Out so that was a nice surprise. I wonder if 19 years is a bit long though. We also wonder how active he'll be in the transfer period. It seems like more teams are passing by Arsenal each year. Go Gunners!

Probably not very active and that's why the Directors love him.

Wenger's longevity is still surprising, and there always have been rumors placing him at the head of the French national team until recently. He definitely brought a lot to Arsenal, but i think it would be the time for him to go elsewhere...more of a conclusion than a sanction even if the results have been disappointing this year apart from the FA Cup.

We've always thought he would eventually head the French team; just seemed natural, but I guess his heart was at Highbury Park, then the Emirates.

I don't believe there is a crunch day for Arsenal this season. They finished 5th last year and will continue to sink until they either get the right combination on the field attacking or they get several new players, or both.

Bonnie, I'm guessing you feel a little better about Pep this season. There's still plenty of time and things could always change, but the season feels like it's City's to lose.

Ellie, I don't like to kick someone when they're down, so I wont---it can only get better. My take on Pep up to now ? A Manage of a TOP club should do all of the following in any season.

1/ Finish in the top four.
2/ Win silverware.
3/ Ensure his team play attractive, entertaining football.

Pep certainly seems to be ticking all the boxes. I was very critical in my expectations of him last season. The remaining season ? Who knows ? Lets just say that the jury is out.

I'm not sure about the jury being out; I think he's the real McCoy and his team shows it. Please chase jose out of town.

Absolutely one of the best managers of the current era, but his style demands a certain class of player in both skill and intelligence. He would not be the right skipper for an average team to get the most out of limited talent, in fact, would probably be a bad choice. But if you have world class players, he's the number one guy you'd want in charge. Last year we saw the fluidity with the offensive players they had especially early on, the problem was when teams realized how weak the defense and goalkeeper were and attacked those areas hard. Now those areas are much improved with players who can play in his system and City look like not just probables for the Premier title, but a serious contender for the champions league.
