Re: Valentina Shevchenko
Does Cachoeira have any shot tonite? At present, you'd have to bet $700 on Valentina to win $100. Seems like a sure bet, but I'll pass.

Re: Valentina Shevchenko
Women's fights are usually co main events, if I have to wait till almost the end I wish these events wouldn't be dragged out so long. Especially here on the east coast, the fights I wanna see usually come around midnite if not long after...it's 11:04 pm and they just announced the winner of a fight, 2 more fights are next before Valentina's.

Re: Valentina Shevchenko
A bit of a mismatch wasn't it?
Cachoeira was 8-0 but this was too much of a step up in class. That's why records are often deceptive when you're not fighting at or near the top level. You can't always learn much from one-sided mismatches but it was a emphatic victory nonetheless that should set Valentina up for a title shot. Many feel Montano is a paper champion and Shevchenko will almost certainly be the odds-on favourite in that one too. She likes to be active so if that's her next fight, hopefully they can set a date ASAP. |

Re: Valentina Shevchenko
Priscila is far from a first class fighter when it comes to ground work, she is above all a"standing " puncher as you can see in her previous fights. |

Valentina Shevchenko vs Priscila Cachoeira This was at Flyweight. Unfortunately, it was a bad mismatch with Mario Yamasaki's usual terrible reffing. He is notorious for late stoppages. Priscila was supposed to make her UFC debut at on the TUF 26 finale but she had visa problems. She is mainly a striker. Valentina quickly neutralized that by taking her down and pounding her. This fight probably should have been stopped in round one. And Priscila blew out her knee during round one and her corner could have stopped the fight. She was getting killed. Why send her back out? So where did they find Priscila? She's a teammate of Jessica Andrade. They needed a Brazilian Flyweight for this show. And as Dana White explained, it's a new division. But she should have been on the prelims, not the main card. That was the UFC's big mistake. The problems with Yamasaki are nothing new. He's been incompetent for years and nothing has been done. I doubt anything will be done now. Now Valentina wants a Flyweight title shot. The problem is Nicco Montano had foot surgery and her return is unknown. My guess is late summer. So Valentina might want to take another fight to keep active. |
