I think you are being a bit harsh on Liz Meles calling her a wimp. I know she did not have the greatest record with 5 wins and 15 losses from the 20 matches that were released but you have to give her credit for taking on some of the best. Her first match at The Amazon was against Nancy Skarvan. Apparently that match came about after Nancy had won a beauty pageant in which Liz was also an entrant. If I recall what Judell told me many years ago correctly, after the conclusion of the beauty pageant Liz referred to Nancy as a "Kid" and apparently made a comment along the lines of "kids should not be allowed to compete in pageants meant for adults". Apparently a heated argument followed and Nancy challenged Liz to come to The Amazon and "sort it out".

In addition to her match against Nancy, Liz also fought Treena, Cindy Brooks about 3 times, Karen Arnold, Lisa Dunwell and many of the other top girls as shown in her attached record.

Thanks so much for all this interesting history. I am Generation X and I discovered Camp Amazon too late to still be in touch with them during their active time (1980s).

Jackie was in the Marines, and she became the first female to ride a pushbike from west coast to east coast USA and at the conclusion got presented to the then President of the USA on the steps of the White House.

I had the video for this match and when that headscissors sequence came on it was enough for the girl I was wrestling with that day to notice my excitement down there! The only bad thing was she shouldn't have let her out!

That exhausts my collection of photos featuring Liz, Jackie and Roz, so I will next move on to what I have of Karen Arnold, Laurie Hatch and Cindy Brooks.

I have grouped those three together because Karen and Laurie were at school with Judell's daughter Sharon. They apparently did not get along and frequently got into fights against each other after school so Sharon suggested to them they join The Amazon rather than fight in the street. Both were only 17 at the time so Judell had to get approval from their parents, but apparently that was not a problem. I have included Cindy Brooks in this group because it was Laurie that got Cindy involved because they were cousins.

Yes, I recall that. Roz came to The Amazon through a friend of Judells who worked for the Department of Corrective Services or whatever it was called in California. If she had some girls brought in for causing trouble fighting in the streets she would suggest to them that they contact Judell and do their fighting at The Amazon where there were some rules. Roz was one of a group of three that arrived at The Amazon together, the others being Linda Garvey and Carlotta Gomez. Judell didn't make life easy for them. In their first matches Linda took on Treena, Carlotta was matched against Lisa Dunwell and Ros against Jackie Wagner. I don't know if at that time Judell knew that Jackie and Roz were related. Not surprisingly, all three of the newcomers lost those first matches.

And Mandy Cole was another "bad girl" sent to Judell for training. She looked pretty hot to me. I was bummed she never did a mixed match there, but time was already running out for Camp Amazon at that point. Damn that Jack (Sr.) Dulong and his philandering!!!
