Wow. I wouldn't have recognized her at all. I'm 3 episodes in so far. I like it but don't love it. Will write a longer review when finished.

I watched in one sitting yesterday night, till the morning. I know I'm biased, but this was one of my favorite TV shows of all time. It is surprisingly mature, I didn't expect it. Now I get why critics are giving it glowing reviews. It has 96% on rotten tomatoes, which is higher than most successful TV shows, including Mad Men.

Of course, it's not about wrestling. Feminism, female objectification, female empowerment are the main subjects of the show, and these subjects are explored thoroughly, sometimes openly, but often subtly. It is written extremely well. The characters are mature, interesting and relatable. The dialogues and humour are outstanding.

My favorite part was when Debbie, having a real moment with Ruth for the first time in a while, says how she loves wrestling, how she feels powerful, in control of her body, almost like a superhero. I also found the metaphor of her wanting to fly in the ring quite interesting and telling, considering the fact that her feet are tied to the ground with so many different ropes.

It doesn't have a happy ending, but neither does it have a sad ending. It doesn't answer questions, it only brings them up, which is what real art should do imo. Brilliant work, really. I wish they made a season 2. Although, I doubt there's a way to make another season which would be just as good.

Good review. I liked it too. Good casting and engaging throughout. Every episode is as good as one another.

I don't have Netflix. Hope I can get a glimpse of the series in the future.

To my surprise, a few of my female contacts in social media have celebrated the series.
Can't help but think whether they like the idea of wrestling or if it's just the show.

Why wait when you can pay under 7 dollars (79:- SEK) for a full month of netflix?

There is a shitload more TV-shows and Movies for free when you join. If you just wanna see GLOW, you can just pay for one month. It's olmost 10 h female wrestling :-)

I mostly look on Netflix then i look on TV nowdays, and the price is very cheep. I dont pay for any other channels and it saves me about 40 dollars/month.

Its very cool they promote GLOW so strongly on Netflix as they do right now. It comes up first even on my wifes netflix login :-)
