Default Anyone with VHS to digital experience?

I have some VHS tapes I'd like to put on the computer and burn to DVD.

Does anyone here have experience doing that that can provide me some advice on this?

You can get VHS to DVD converters on Amazon for like 40 bucks. I've never used one, so I don't know how good or user friendly they are, or if spending more would get you a better conversion.

I bought a VHS to DVD converter years ago and converted my hundreds of m/f and f/f tapes on to DVD.

I'm very non-tech savvy, so if I can do it you can too.

I had a PC device that I used too to convert some old VHS tapes. I was especially excited to get my copy of Red Dom digitized. Unfortunately, and even with a kick-ass laptop with a killer dedicated graphics card and 32 gigs of Ram, it came out horrible. Plus the 1 hour tape ended up being like a 4gb file when it was done. I'm still looking for a better way too.
