Default Remember when DWW videos were all free?

I remember at one point, maybe 5 years ago, dww.xxx popped up seemingly out of nowhere, and had nearly every single DWW video streaming for free. I'll never forget the feeling of discovering that for the first time.

Does anyone know why that happened? It lasted maybe a few months and then it was gone. The clips are still being sold, so it would have been very counter intuitive to just suddenly make everything free. Was it a marketing ploy?

Only certain ones were free (maybe they all were in the very very beginning which I never saw). In the flv format as I recall. Maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of their catalog was free. The others were pay per view, maybe with a short free sample.

I believe it was started by DWW owners. They tried the new model - only some videos free, others pay-per-view, but it didn't work out well I guess.

It's a shame that DWW stopped producing / publishing. Sure, they can't make the money they used to make 10-15 years ago, but if they kept producing, they'd still make a lot more than any other website of the niche, due to their customer base. But they'd need to properly streamline production & publishing and be on top of things. As @[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] pointed out in a different topic today, it's a different world now. Sales of digital media have dropped substantially since mid 2000s. Today is the new reality. You have to offer good quality content for cheaper prices now and take care of your customers if you want to survive. This has been the case for businesses in the physical world for centuries, so I wouldn't say it's unfair at the moment. I think we are living at a good time, as long as the state of the Internet is concerned. It's fairer in many ways that it was for the fetish niche, before the Internet grew rapidly to what it is today. Some producers used the state of the new Internet market to sell crap for high prices. You can't do that today, if you want to make money in the long run.
OK, rant over, back to work.

It's kind of crazy that DWW, which has been gone for years, is still the paradigm of entertainment in this genre. Fighting Dolls comes close but for some reason, it's still not the same.

It would be a dream to create a new DWW. It would just be very difficult to find the right girls, production crew and distribution platform. Not to mention that although it isn't quite porn, it falls within that stigma as far as the public is concerned. Couldn't quite go back to a regular job after running a pseudo-pornographic wrestling org.

I miss the extreme fights. There is nothing like it out there now.
