Playboy had an article in the 70's I think about a wealthy aficionado (schmoe) who paid FBB's to be with him. I remember vividly (no pictures) of them lounging as he's play the piano or they'd listen to music. He paid them to be around them.

Not sure, but Pillow was one of the females, so wouldn't be surprised if Kay was part of the group.

I think that this was the first mixed wrestling production that emanated from the BB world.
Was that Mimi Hitzman and her husband "Hooshang"? I thought he was from India.

Thanks for the memories, Poly!

It's interesting to me that Bill referenced Jay Fox rather than Drew/Kandor as an example of a headscissor specialist, considering Jay is in Canada and also newer to the scene. Does anyone know if there was any bad blood between Bill and Drew? Not trying to start any rumors, just curious.

This is a very belated response to a very old post, but I just came upon this thread today for the first time in a long time.

I remember seeing the Jane Frederick movie back in the day. I was just absolutely stunned. Any sports fan knew who she was. The idea of somebody like her participating in this world that I thought was deeply, deeply underground was theretofore unimaginable to me.

I had the same question about her that I had about some of the other women who did wrestling movies and tapes: Did she understand that what this was about was erotic entertainment for a certain niche of guys? It seemed kind of unlikely.

I don't know Bill Wick, but I was a customer of his, and I once asked him via e-mail how he got these women to wrestle on camera. He gave the answer that I guess is now widely known: He just asked them. Somehow, though, that raises more questions in my mind than it answers.

Anyway, more power to him.

I don't remember the Frederick tape being very hot. I think she was all business. Very sober. Matter-of-fact. Not dressed sexy. This is not my cup of tea. But I was glad and am glad that Bill was out there fighting for us, so to speak.

I was standing next to Wick when he "asked" Tina Woodley during the time when she was setting some powerlifting records. She replied, "You might not like it." and Wick immediately said, "How do you know?"

So Wick was fast with the quip - and persistent. Not just "asking", but challenging. He also said he didn't want to wrestle women who didn't like the idea.

How did he ask? Was it like, "I make videos of me wrestling strong girls, and I was wondering if you'd be interested?" The reason I ask is that I would expect the response to that to be something along the lines of "WHY do you make videos of you wrestling girls?" Did Woodley know what that he was talking about soft-core, fetish porn?

And why exactly do you consider wrestling to be porn?

Actually it is a sport. As for eroticism one might say that about many sports. Serena Williams, for example.

I don't recall Bill's exact words, but he didn't mention anything about a video. Remember he was doing this stuff before videos. The location was Toronto and the event was the Women's World BB Championships. I'm not sure that Bill had a video camcorder at that time.

The earliest product of which I am aware, featuring Bill, was a California Supreme film (or a few of them).

His approach was along the lines of asking them if they liked to squeeze men. He said it was for fun and mildly challenged them and their strength.

He was good as this schtick. On one occasion while I was photographing a major FBB show in North Carolina, Bill came up behind me and pointed out an audience member who looked well rounded with muscle. After the Prejudging was over, I caught up with the girl and a friend. Her name was Lenda Murray and she had recently won an intermediate contest. I asked her about taking some photos and she was happy to oblige. I told her I needed to get some different film (remember "film"?) and had to go to my room. She followed with her friend going off to retrieve some posing clothing from their room. And, of course, Wick was there too.

We entered my suite and I went to the bedroom where I kept my film and dumped my contest rolls and picked up some higher resolution film. When I came back into the living room, Lenda was on the floor with her legs wrapped around Bill's chest. He said he was showing her some "self defence" tips. I just smiled and shortly we went out to take some photos.

This was all in the space of a few minutes.
