Angry Danger To All Members !

I was following a thread, posted by a forum member on the 15th Jan, and was suddenly rewarded by a full screen announcement that "my computer had been locked" for illegal activity. This was supposed to come from "The Police Central e-crime unit". They showed me that they had my IP address and that if I wanted to avoid prosecution and unlock my computer, then I had to pay 100 GBP within 24 hours. The whole thing looked very genuine. It was of course a scam ( the police don't do deals with lawbreakers ). This particular scam is quite well known and they are known as ransomware. The point is that even though I did not pay, I am still left with a cabbaged computer ( I am at present using a very old alternative one ). I can't remove it in safe mode and since ALL I can see is this accursed warning, I can't use any of my malware or virus programs. In short, I'm fucked, and the only course of action left to me is a complete format, and thats a ball-ache. Has any other forum members encountered this problem ? I can't believe that I was the only one to follow this thread. Since I can't look on the infected computer, I cannot be anymore specific other than to say the thread concerned femdom.

I got that on my PCM two weeks ago, it's a virus that destroys your temporary files, use a free antivirus software to remove it from you of hard drive.

Do you mean you didn't get the virus, or you didn't get my point ?

As I explained, I can't use antivirus or antimalware software ( free or otherwise ), 'cos the ONLY thing that my monitor will display is the said notice informing me that my computer is locked. To use antivirus software that is already on the computer, I have to be able to see it in order to click on it.

I agree that, though difficult, this computer of our Insider bonnie4444 is repairable. With a similar issue I worked through until Malwarebytes scrubbed the issue. First, of course, disconnect from the internet, then attempt a start in DOS if possible, accessing the menu of programs that begin on start up. Disable the startup of malware, ransomware, and then begin the fix. Worse case scenario of course, you have regularly backed up all your data so reformat your hard drive. As you've said, nearly last resort. Another member, more familiar with this malware can perhaps be even more helpful. If some member will provide me with the url of the infected site, I'll drop my firewall and disable some protections on a spare computer so that I can replicate the problem and then provide a step by step fix to help bonnie4444. I somewhat feel your pain. Moreover, I am willing to try and hellp.

I got something like that a couple sundays ago...but I was able to boot into safe mode and while my stupid AVG found nothing, malwarebytes cleaned that shit out using the quick-scan mode. There is a forum over at malwarebytes that can guide you step-by-step in cleaning up your computer, I imagine you'll have to make a rescue disk at kaspersky, and go into your computer's setup to boot it from an alternate drive, etc... good luck!
