A few pics of Cindy against various opponents where I only have a few photos from each match. The match against Susan Skarvan took place shortly after the Treena affair. As described in earlier posts, the Skarvan sisters took the lead of those that wanted Treena banned from The Amazon, but Cindy took the lead of those who were of the view that what Treena did outside The Amazon was her business and she should be allowed to continue competing. This lead to bitterness between the two groups and although the Skarvans refused to fight at The Amazon any more until Treena was banned they did want to "get square" with Cindy. They decided that Susan was the best choice to fight Cindy, probably because Susan was the roughest fighter of the Skarvan sisters, and they no doubt wanted to rough up Cindy. What ensued was a very wild match that threatened to get out of hand more than once.

I don't know who her opponent was, but I can give you some background on it. At one point, Judell and her husband Jack wanted to produce a movie that would have realistic female fight scenes. I think they even had a script, or at least the outlines for a script. Anyway, they filmed some matches, outdoors, in which the women would engage in a fight, or at least a simulated fight, as kind of a preview of what the scene might look like. The "match" with Cindy Brooks in blue jeans was one of those matches, there might have been others. I could be wrong, but I think Judell sold Super 8 movies of one or more of those matches. But I don't know who her opponent was, and I'm not sure if Judell even stated that, I don't think that she was a regular at the Amazon.

To head off any questions, let me make it clear that no movie was actually made or even cast. I'm not even sure that a complete script was every written, although maybe there was a summary of an anticipated script. But so far as I know, that's about as far as it went.

By the way, often I see references to "videos" of Judell's matches. To clarify, when Judell started in 1975 she would release most of her matches on both photo sets (I was one of the people who bought the photo sets) and on silent Super 8 films. In the fall of 1981 she released her first video, with sound, of Cindy Brooks vs Nancy Skarvan (Their second match). Even then, most of her matches were still released on Super 8 and photo sets, although I think she increased the proportion that were done on video. And back then, by "video" I mean Beta and VHS, there were not DVD's back then. When she moved to Montana in 1985, by that time, she did exclusively video releases and no more Super 8 or photo sets. Some of the "videos" that people talk about on this site, are DVD's of Super 8 transfers.

Are there any matches of her doing a victory pose on her opponent?
I believe there are some of the others although I don't recall any of the others putting their bare foot on the guys face.
However has Judith ever do any victory poses period? Thank you.

Dear 3dlaserfan

Thank you so much for that explanation. Makes sense. I thought this outdoor fight might have been a custom for a fan. But in this case its a pity their movie with realistic fight scenes never got made. It would have been a great movie for us female fighting fans, I am sure.

I understand the point about super 8 versus VHS vs DVD. I am Generation X so I still recall the times when we only had VHS tapes to play and no internet mp4 downloads :-)

Thank you and enjoy your weekend

As I recall, Judell wrote that it was some Hollywood stuntwoman. She did not name her.

Stymie, you are right, she was a Hollywood stunt woman. if you put your mouse pointer over the photo in the message where I uploaded it, you will see her name is given as Lena. I have no idea if that was her correct name or an assumed name for the filming.

As for the comment by 3dlaserfan in the earlier message, the description of how it all came about is correct. Of course the full length film never happened, and Judell never released a film of the fight scene involving Cindy.

You are, of course, quite right, but I, and I suspect most other contributors to this thread, use the term "video" fairly loosely to mean all, or any, of Super 8, video, or DVD.

As for Judell, she actually had her first match, or at least the first one she referred to, on 29th August 1973 against Sue Lynn Brundage. There were no photos or film of it released and it was never included in the official lists of The Amazon. She then had 4 matches for which she released photo sets I n 1974, including her match against Linda Schultz, which was the first one which she released on Super 8 film. Although that match was released as item 5, the match actually took place before the matches for which photo sets were released as Items 2, 3 and 4, as shown on her attached record.
