It was an exciting fight, but not the most exciting women's fight the UFC has seen. We can agree on that, then.
I thought Andrade won pretty easily.

No, you didn't. I substituted beatdown for "not competitive". But, considering how the term is used in the mixed wrestling community, probably not the best choice What I meant to say is that it was competitive in the sense that Andrade had to work for it, Hill didn't just roll over like, say, Esparza vs JJ.

Anyway, enough of that. I think Hill's on a bit of a honeymoon phase with the MMA world right now. Everyone knows she took a tough draw her first time out in the UFC, can see how hard she worked and how much she improved in Invicta and I think there was a lot of "they bring her back and THIS is the first fight they give her?". She got props just for MAKING it a competitive fight. And, after last night's bum card in Brooklyn, even Hill vs Andrade looks like fight of the century. Lord, what a stinker

She's reading the situation very well, I think. The sale of the UFC has caused fighters to examine their real worth in a way most hadn't until they saw the full financial worth of their sport. She knows she's a hot prospect who will be in the UFC but also realizes there's a way to go before she's a box office draw, which is when she really becomes valuable. She's smart to want to wait to build her value and make herself into a legit contender who can put some bums in seats.

Three WMMA bouts set for Bellator 174. That's encouraging:

Lots of appeals going on these days. Derek Brunson also appealing loss to Anderson Silva, plus Holly's appeal. Recently Tonya Evinger successfully appealed her loss. Of all the cases up for review, I find this one the most egregious and straightforward. When you're asleep when the horn goes off, you simply CAN NOT be awarded the victory. However, the first attempt, at the commission level, failed so I really can't see a court overturning the Athletic Commission's decision. Still, I made a small contribution and wish Celine all the luck in the world. I have a feeling she's going to need it:
