Default Should Mixed Boxing be permitted?

I know girls are allowed to wrestle boys but what about boxing? Should Mixed Boxing be permitted?

My view: I'm gonna say no. Why? I don't think women are on the level of men in striking. Whilst wrestling is more even I have to disagree on Boxing. Men carry more muscle mass on them and upper body strength which can be used as an advantage in Boxing. I think men are better suited to the striking game.

Just my two cents.

So far as I know, mixed boxing is not a sanctioned sport. Mixed wrestling is, at least in high school, mostly because there is not a sufficient number of women's teams.
Perhaps someone can shed more light on this.

My heart says no, but my head says, yes IF the woman really wants to. I can't honestly think of a good reason why mixed boxing matches should take place.

Have you seen fighters like Tyson and Foreman? They were animals. This is gonna sound sexist but I don't think women are animals like that, if you know what I mean.

Why does your head say yes? Any other reasons?

as fantasy its all good fun, but on a serious professional basis?

unfortunately theres a whole bunch of cultural and physioloigical reasons as to why its a bad idea, even compared to wrestling

I like to think of myself as an expert when talking about boxing.

Women can compete with men at boxing up to 140lbs any higher in weight class and the gap in the competition becomes wider.

A world class boxer in any weight class would beat a woman with ease.

Mate, I watched the "Rumble in the Jungle" on tv, back in the day and remember Tyson when he was a 19 yr old prospect.........

Call me old-fashioned, but my heart is against women boxing, because of the cumulative damage on a female's features.
My head however, says if there's some Chris Cyborg type, who wants to trade punches with a guy her own size, she should be able to do so in a free society. There have been mixed kick-boxing matches, haven't there?

Punching power comes mostly from the legs, not the upper body

partially true, but on average, and at the elite level, men have more powerful muscles in both lower and upper body than women, even when adjusted for body mass. an elite man is going to hit harder than an elite woman in his weightclass

x2

Sparring on the other hand, can be pretty good between a wider range of weight classes regardless of gender.
I've sparred with "ziggy" and "malibu". I'm much bigger than both of them, but the action was still intense. I held back on intensity. It really became an issue of skills.

Back then, I think Malibu was a better boxer than I but Ziggy and I were close.

After years of training, I think I'd could work either of them over, but it still would be great sparring.
