yep, that was going to be my next question...could she lift it from the floor ?

Also, i read that deadlifts depend on the weight of the lifter - how would you estimate her weight ? 160 ?
It says she's 6'6. I'd guess her weight to be 180-200 range based on her height and photo.

Deadlifting is a poor indicator of wrestling. There are girls I know who can deadlift 370 pounds. They would probably not be most men in a wrestling match. But they would beat almost every girl.

Also deadlifting twice your bodyweight is excellent. I mean it's not excellent for someone who always lifts. But it's impressive and any girl deadlifting 300 plus is very rare.

A mistake some are making here is questioning whether she could lift the same weight from the floor. In deadlifting there is a difference from other common lifts such as squatting or benching. In a squat one may 1/4 squat much more than they could compare to a competition squat, but one starts off braced; in deadlifting from blocks one may actually be weaker than from the floor because one is not braced. Those who actually lift will understand the importance of bracing.

Yeah, there's gym strength and there's functional strength and the former might not necessarily have as direct a relationship to the latter as 1 might think. So the fact that she deadlifts isn't relevant, whereas the fact that she lifts regularly and is athletic means she has the physical tools to wrestle. That doesn't mean much of course, she could freeze up once a guy is on top of her, she might not be as coordinated when she needs to constantly move her hold body etc. Real wrestling is always more than physical stuff.

i was wondering that too. Thats why i asked if the average short dude could lift that from the same position (block pull) as her. If he could lift that an inch at all ?

lol wut? I never even replied to this thread. ...Or has it been separated from another thread where I said something?

She didn't "get" the lift and straighten her back at any point. That was a failed lift and the weight appears too heavy for her. As others have said; her form is horrible or broke down because the weight was too much. So officially she cannot pull 335, be it a deadlift or rack pull.

But yeah, kudos to her anyway as a lot of guys that don't lift wouldn't even be able to budge that weight.

yeah, absolutely right ! what i meant was, how her raw strength would compare to a short untrained guy, so to say the potential power. Of course in a fight everything is different (i'd guess her to be a tough fighter though, look at that face in the pic..she looks like an amazon warrior )

He would be quicker than her, the question is whether she could still handle him. As I said I think it's likely she could but not obvious that she could.

By Jiminy - you're quite right. That explains it, then. However, it's surely an archaic term today. I have haven't heard anyone say that in my day to day life ever.

335 on the first go. Not likely.

You would probably start untrained with 220, and within 6 weeks be lifting that weight easy.
