Larissa Pacheco is still a very good prospect and could be a top 145er. She came into the UFC when she was 20 and had a good record behind but her but it was too early.

Pacheco vs. Letson @ 145 would be a tear up.

Bellator has a featherweight championship match this Friday between defending champ Julia Budd from Canada and undefeated Brazilian Talita Nogueira, who looks like a monster. It will be on Paramount channel. There are two flyweight matches in the pre-lims. Those won't be on live TV, but will be available as videos on the Bellator site within a couple of days after the event.

Julia Budd is one of my favourite fighters. Mainly because she has one of the best physiques in WMMA.

But Budd was disappointing in her last fight and to be honest I can see Nogueira doing her over.

Julia is built like Holly Holm, but not as pretty a face. Her fight is still on. On the undercard, Emily Ducote will fight Veta Arteaga at flyweight. Veta is the one who bloodied and battered Anastasia Yankova early in their fight, but then went on to lose by controversial split decision. The other flyweight fight is no longer on the card - I don't know why.

Added after 9 minutes:

On Saturday, Cat Zingano will fight Marion Reneau at bantamweight on the UFC main card. It would be hard to find two ladies more evenly matched in record and physique. I like Cat and enjoyed how she beat Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes, but those two went on to be champions while Cat seemed to lose her mojo. Let's see if she has it back. The fight will be telecast on FS1.

On the early pre-lims on UFC fight pass, Liz Carmouche will fight Jennifer Maia at flyweight and Jessica Aguilar will take on Jodie Esquibel at strawweight.

Great dominant performance by the Jewel this evening as she battered her way to a third round TKO over Talita Nogueira.

Yup, a fun fight and possibly the best performance of Julia Budd's career to date.

I guess you could say Nogueira was largely unproven, but she's a bonafide 145er and a BJJ world champion. She was also undefeated coming into this fight.

Budd pretty much dominated everywhere the fight went however and grew in confidence the longer she was in there. Quite literally stronger with every round. She landed a great knee to the body in the 2nd round that hurt and folded the Brazilian against the cage. Budd was clearly willing, able and confident to go to the ground with the jiu jitsu ace, something that kind of surprised me but perhaps shouldn't have. Budd transitioned from Kickboxing but immediately evolved into more of a ground and pound specialist in MMA.

A hard leg kick and punch to the jaw sealed the deal in round 3. Bloodied and beaten, Nogueira was clearly hurt as she was down for some time after the fight was stopped.

Cat Zingano is back! Her victory over Marion Reneau combined her skill, aggression, emotion and at the conclusion of the fight even a little affection. But her appearance struck me as a bit boob-heavy. Has she had implants? Do implants give female fighters an advantage? Inquiring minds want to know.

She's definitely got implants. I would think, if anything, they are a disadvantage.

Good to see her get back in the win column though.

Apparently Ketlen Veira vs Holly Holm is in the works to decide an interim 135 title as the UFC continue to push for Nunes vs Cyborg.

I'd like to see Cat have a relatively quick turnaround again and looking at the UFC's 135 rankings, I like the idea of Cat vs Germaine de Randamie. A classic striker vs grappler match up.

I would think disadvantage too - which implies that Cat has priorities more important than fighting and doesn't bode well for her future success in MMA. At her level you can't afford to give up anything going into a fight.
