Re: Did you ever lose to a team of women in team sports
I think I've recounted this before on here years ago but I was also part of a losing boys team in a boys V. girls Basketball match.
It happened when we were in year 11 - aged 15/16 - an age when boys fully expect to be better than girls at physical sporting endeavors. It would have been a normal gym class, rope-climbing etc, but the school gymnasium had just had new basketball courts installed, so our teacher said we could have a game of basketball instead. Usually there were more girls than boys (my school had more girls than boys at about a 1:3 ratio) but often a few girls would sit out PE, so it turned out the class was exactly 5 girls and 5 boys. We were about to pick teams, when our female teacher suggested we play girls vs boys. Some of the girls were very athletic, particularly one girl, who was tall (5'10) and played Netball for the school team as well. She embarrassingly took the ball away from me multiple times and I could never get it off her, she was just too fast, and her co-ordination was way better than mine. Luckily I wasn't the worst player on the court, that was a fat kid called Tom, who wasn't hopeless and tried hard, but was just not quick enough. One of the boys on our team was a star Footballer for the school, but the girls team had too much depth. I can't remember what the final score was, but it was very lopsided in favour of the girls. They were shouting encouragement to eachother, urging their team mates to take on which ever boy had the ball and giving eachother high fives in celebration. Basically owning the court. By the end, us boys were extremely red-faced and dejected, wishing we hadn't accepted the match whereas the girls were in high spirit and bragged about their victory for some time after. I was also part of a losing girls vs boys doubles match in Tennis and my worst experience, personally, was when a younger girl beat me for money playing Pool when I was 19. |

Re: Did you ever lose to a team of women in team sports
Those Spanish girls definitely humiliated the boys. It's not like the girls just won here and there but they actually won the entire league. I'm pretty sure that when they entered the competition the boys' teams viewed them as a joke and wanted to teach them a lesson but at the end they were the ones who got humbled. Their reactions reflect their frustration and embarrassment.
From the article: But as the team improved, and began to beat boys’ teams with more regularity, its progress generated unpleasant reactions. “It’s really been more a problem for parents rather than their boys,” Salmerón said of comments directed at the team during matches. “It’s strange, but most of the macho comments and insults have come from the mothers of some of the boys we play.” [...] “It’s hard to lose against girls,” said one player By the way this isn't the first time all-girls teams were allowed to play with the boys, I read about it happening in Germany where the youth teams of the best female clubs sometimes play in the same division as boys. Here's one such match with the girls dominating and winning. [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] And here's the regular female team from their club completely trashing adult (18 and 19 year old) men and winning 7-1, toying with them. [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] Say what you want but it must have been humiliating for the men in the last video to get absolutely trashed by women at their hometown with their friends, relatives and girlfriends watching. Even if the Turbine Potsdam women team is one of the best in the country I don't think they imagined that they would get completely destroyed like this. Last edited by al89; 06-Jun-17 at 12:51. |

“It’s hard to lose against girls,” said one player.
Lol! "It's HARD..." Yes, I know how he feels. I would be hard too. |

Re: Did you ever lose to a team of women in team sports
A girl once beat in a ping pong game. In my defence, it was my second or third ping pong game ever. It was kind of a round robin tournament. She beat another two guys, but at the end she didn't win the tournament.

Re: Did you ever lose to a team of women in team sports
I played for the boys hockey team in school. We were nowhere near as good as our girls team who were county standard. Played them at games lessons and some friendlies, quite often, and they beat us most times. Once, one of them cracked me across the ankle with her stick and I went flying (they were well aggressive sometimes!), stood over me and laughed. That was pretty humiliating (helped by the fact that she was one of the hot ones!). Enjoyed that moment tbh.

Re: Did you ever lose to a team of women in team sports
Still not sure if its a good idea to let Boys and Girls compete in the same league.
As a boy it's always hard to play against a girl, cause you have nothing to win. If you win 10:0 you feel bad for the girls and nobody will complement you, but if you loose or only win by a short margin you look like an idiot to the public. In every 1on1 situations you wouldn't go in that hard cause your instinct tells you to back up cause it's a girl. I once played in a football(soccer) tournament where we had to play a girls team. I am glad we easily won by 11:0. But I remember we went as easy as possible on them cause it looks totally stupid when you play girls and try as hard as possible. Having a girls team win a male league is surely impressive and a nice story for the media. But in the Age around 12-14 the physical differences aren't that big yet plus the fact they were playing in a "B-League". If I got the facts right this girls team was also kind of a selection team and 1-2 years older in average. In that age it's a big difference. So I think this can't be taken as an accurate Boys/Girls comparison in Soccer. A professional female team who wins the champions league would probably still loose against a 4th or 5th League male team. The funny thing about me is....In a fantasy match/movie I would totally love to see a Girls Team in sexy tight outfits facing a Boys Team consisting of older and more experienced players and still defeat them by lets say 5:3 after being behind by 0:3. But in reality I would never want this to happen, cause of all the Gender discussions that would go on in the media. And in the end they would probably allow mixed leagues until the age of 19. |

Re: Did you ever lose to a team of women in team sports
Well one time I was at a friends practice and his team was 5th and 6th graders. I was in 7th grade at the time. They scrimmaged a team of 7th and 8th grade girls and they were getting waxed. They asked me to join in the scrimmage. I was the best player on the boys team but we still lost pretty good.

Re: Did you ever lose to a team of women in team sports
I coach U14 soccer Down Under. I have seen at least 20 games where boys played all-girls teams and the girls won over 80% of them. They have better technique and skill and are able to physically compete. A couple of years older they cannot compete though. I also see girl's doing very wel on boys rugby teams.
