Cyborg looked good. Completely steam-rolled the respectable and typically durable Smith. Early stoppage but saved Smith of an inevitable, much more severe beating. It was clearly a mismatch and fair stoppage IMO on the basis of Smith not belonging in there with Cris.

Like I've said before, I really think that if Cyborg could make 135 and be healthy doing it, she would have done it by now. Bantamweight in the UFC is the place to be, the most lucrative place to be. Everyone wants the most lucrative fights.

It's that she's simply too big for the division and 140 is her limit. Weight cutting and the science behind it is a huge part of the fight game, so you can't keep saying another 4lbs and she could squeeze down to bantamweight. She already knows her limit and 135 is too low for her. 140-145 is already a huge cut as her nutritionist alludes.

If the UFC plan on using Cyborg, they need to make a 145 division for her. Right now it's a fair argument that there is little depth, but in time, I see it working as it would give bigger girls like Kayla Harrison a division to fight in and the opportunity for more superfights. MMA is becoming more attractive as a sport for women as the UFC provides an end goal and bonafide mainstream stars and role models in R. Rousey (like it or not: Ronda is an idol to many teenage and young girls). I don't think it'll be long before we see an influx of exciting YOUNG female fighters that have been training all facets of MMA since they were kids. I know a lot of these big gyms have quite a few 16-17 year old girls on their books.

It looks like they have Cyborg as the headliner of that card on the 24th, so I hope the fans will be excited to tune into this one on FS1. I know true fight fans are not supposed to care about such things, but Lina is a looker, so I plan to watch.

I might be crazy, but we might witness a major upset tonight. Cyborg had trouble making weight for early weigh in's and looked tired standing on the scale. Lansberg on the other hand, looked very fresh. She is a powerful fighter and seems very calm for this fight. Hope I'm wrong but we will see.

Not a chance!!!!! She's got about as much a chance as Amanda Nunes has of beating Meisha Tate. Oh wait!!
