Default Anji injures opponent in competition.

Well, found another video I want to share, back as a 4 stripes blue belt (currently I am 2 stripes Purple Belt), this one at IBJJF Pan Ams, opponent didn't tap on time (it happens often, pressure from teammates, coach, family or just a bad decision) to a one-arm Americana/wristlock submission combination and I hurt her wrist by not fault of my own, I never enjoy causing injury, but it happens at times in any sport (I have broken two fingers in the past, back/neck/rib injuries and seen devastating knee injuries ). Fortunately, it was not a bad injury, just maybe a week of recovery for her. Here is the video:

If there's one thing I've learned in the little jiu-jitsu I've been taught, it's how to tap really fast.

As a totally novice beginner in this jujitsu game, what I noticed was how your opponent seemed very stiff, rigid and jumpy while you were very cool and relaxed as you saved energy and went through your mental rolodex of techniques.

Nicely done!

I didn't get to see how you finally isolated her left arm for the 1 arm americana, there was some stuff blocking the view. But I imagine she may have flailed a bit? Or did you just finally muscle it away from her body?

By the way, a "rolodex" is this thing one used to spin around in the old days to organize and access business cards. You're probably to young to know what that is. ;-)

Thank you. I usually do a bit of relaxation techniques while I am warming up before the match, then try to control the pace of the match. I controlled one arm with my legs and isolated the other while keeping my weight on her, then at about 2 minutes into the match, she tried to frame, leaving enough space for me to set-up the one arm Americana/wristlock combination. Remember, timing is everything
I just saw that ''The Rolodex was invented in 1956, by the Danish engineer Hildaur Neilsen" you must be quite old ! just kidding
