Re: California Supreme
In their time California Supreme were leaders in the respect that many outfits produced video of girls rolling around topless or nude, but C.S.were I believe were the first to have them wrestle for real.

Re: California Supreme
In many of their matches there seemed to be some hard feelings between the girls wrestling. Some of the frustration poured out into a bit more violence than perhaps was called for. Cal Supreme also helped many girls get a good start in their careers or helped many keep going as they built a reputation.

Re: California Supreme
I never thought of California Supreme as being 100% authentic. For their time, they produced some very good matches, that were what we would call today "semi-competitive." But I think Ron Dvorkin had some kind of script for most all their matches. They were somewhere in between the phony films produced by Triumph Studios and the genuine article that Judell put out. Having said that, some of their earlier matches were good, maybe 75% or so competitive, and it's possible they filmed some real matches.

I think it was difficult to get girls to fight that hard back then and in general wouldn`t have been the goal. |

Re: California Supreme
What years were they actively producing new content? I received snail mail catalogs from them for years, but it mostly looked like the same videos.

Re: California Supreme
Probably mid 60s, maybe as early as 62 or so, up until about 10+ years ago. I will still very infrequently get a brochure from them, but nothing new has been produced as far as I know. I think Dvorkin sold his inventory, possibly to one or more of CS’s wrestlers. I seem to recall reading something about that in a brochure or online but can’t remember for sure. Whatever the case I’m pretty sure he’s no longer involved with CS.
