This is the next big fight with the Strawweight title on the line.

Re: Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Jessica Andrade
Very probably Joanna wins but I hope Andrade defeats her.
I don't like Joanna's attitude when she faces her opponents, specially before the matches. She is very arrogant and almost always she wants to start the fight during the weighing ceremonies. |

Re: Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Jessica Andrade
Surprisingly, reigning women’s strawweight queen Joanna Jedrzejczyk isn’t a massive favorite going in against Brazil’s Jessica Andrade. While the Pole is the betting favorite, she’s standing at -170. Andrade is clearly a live ‘dog and is currently at +140 to pull off the upset and steal Jedrzejczyk’s title.

Re: Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Jessica Andrade
I agree with Stymie. Not a big fan of JJ, but she is a much better fighter than Andrade. She will cruise comfortably to a decision. I don't believe she can KO Andrade.

Re: Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Jessica Andrade
Joanna always breaks her hand, that's why she fights cautiously.

Also these MMA gloves are terrible when it comes to hand protection. Joanna did muay thai all her life and her hands took a lot of battering. |

Re: Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Jessica Andrade
And maybe it's just me, but I think it's kind of an unfair leap for a challenger to go from strategizing 3 round victories to 5 rounds, a 2/3 increase, if the champ is experienced with the 5 rounders. Would be like a boxer going from 10 round fights to nearly 17 rounds for the championship! Don't know how they would fit in 4 round fights though....

Re: Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Jessica Andrade
I always like the Pride format with 10 minute first round and 5 minute second round more. Then they scored the fights as a whole.
It's more like a "real fight", fighters can work grappling set ups more. Then if there isn't a finish in the first round we get to see who has more heart in the 2nd round and who comes out to win it. 5 5 minute rounds make it look more like some crappy version of boxing and scoring 3 5 minute rounds with a boxing system makes a lot of decisions look weird. If someone scratches the first two rounds the best his opponent can hope for is a draw even if he completely destroys him in the 3rd round and almost finishes him. Obviously copying boxings 10/12 3 minute round system wouldn't work either because it would limit grappling and it would make the cards last forever. |
