Judo in Movies and TV (inc. Pictures)
We don't have a generic thread for this subject anywhere in the Forum - though we do have several devoted to just one throw or one source. So I'll start with a quick catch-up of what a simple search threw up:
[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] [Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] There isn't a clip with this contribution, but I'm using the Videos Forum so that other members can post screenshots and clips in this single dedicated thread. It's something that Naji now prefers, and nobody complained recently when I flooded the 'Breaking Necks' Video thread with 250+ still images from my DVDs. I'll also try to provide the sources of all my images to help those who want to search for the respective video. This first one is from Tomb Invader, and it occurs around the 40-minute mark. The heroine also used judo in her previous fight ten minutes earlier, but I decided that scene was too dark to capture useful screenshots. I hope some of you find the subject of interest. |

Literally my favourite subject ever, and that's a great start Verscont. Thanks so much.

Re: Judo in Movies and TV (inc. Pictures)
This was the single bright spot in JCVD and Dolph's dark, dreary, dingy, dull, sub-oceanic actioner Black Water. I've brightened things up as much as I dare. BTW Judo Girl here is one of the hijackers; so please remember to cheer for the grey-haired old Secret Service guy she's taking to the cleaners.
It's part of a melee scene around 10 minutes before the end, with the camera cutting between four fights taking place in the same enclosed space. Ms. Terrorist began this tussle by disarming the old codger using some neat handplay and joint locks [Example at 1 below]. But the rest of the images are devoted to her single arm grab and over-the-shoulder throw. He tried to hold her in place with one hand whilst punching her with the other. But she was far too swift and skilled, and he was soon on his back, clearly winded. For all I know, he may still be lying there hoping somebody will eventually help him to his feet. Followers of my Mainstream Picture Threads know I always try to give you a proper letch at fighting femmes who operate in the dark. And this one is no different; so here is Jasmine Waltz at rest and at play [17-18]. |

Absolutely amazing. I'm not going to reply to every one you post Verscont (because that can get annoying when people click on it and there's no contribution), but please know that I am incredibly grateful for the work you're putting in here. This is so completely nailing my fetish that I can barely speak about it. Thanks so much for all your work. I remember all those times in the 80's and 90's when I would take endless videos home hoping to find scenes like these.

Re: Judo in Movies and TV (inc. Pictures)
Thank you @[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] Your comments cheered me up so much this morning that I've been back to the disc with renewed vigour - to see what could be done for you with the other scene. So here it is.
And will everyone else please refrain from pointing out that the crew must have spent so much on smoke machines, they didn't have any budget left for lighting. I wouldn't normally bother with such poor quality images; but this is an exception, for somebody so appreciative of the subject. And I've already made the same point myself earlier: Quote:

Re: Judo in Movies and TV (inc. Pictures)
Just found this one from the same source as Posts #1 and #6. We're back in daylight, but now Alabama Jones is struggling to keep her fit body in frame - so it's still not presented as clearly as I'd like. But you might as well have this one too for completeness sake. And I enjoyed the way she followed up the throw, in the part that we did get to see on screen.
Let's hope she gets around to making as many sequels as her obvious 'inspirations' Lara and Indiana. |

Re: Judo in Movies and TV (inc. Pictures)
Yesterday I watched a very obscure DVD hoping for some Forum-friendly action from this scene - it's the old 'Attacked-When-Naked-In-Shower' trope [1]. The blonde is in a tent, and I was waiting for her to beat the crap out of a stalker who tore a peephole in the canvas. But, sadly, he used some kind of blow dart to weaken her, and then finished her off with this strangle [2].
"What on earth has this go to do with judo?" I hear you ask. Well, hopefully all will be revealed tomorrow. In the meantime, take a quick look at the next generation of screen judokas I have in training. Actually, the scene is from a 1980s production set around a Chinatown Restaurant. It's titled Tiger Heart - star of the Takeaway Menu, and said to be excellent after a starter of Fried Bat Wings with Crane Vomit Dip. |

Soldier Girl is walking back to her tent when she's attacked by Soldier Guy. She instantly puts all that unarmed combat training to good use. I'm guessing that they know each other well, and I've got a handle on what Idioot probably means. But you might need the services of Bartos for the rest of the dialogue. Despite the apparent friendliness of the characters, she followed up with another couple of moves on him. But they weren't too impressive (especially given the darkness). The first one was more of a push than a throw, for example. So I haven't included them here. But, knowing me, I won't be able to resist posting them soon anyway. |
