Re: Susan Strong or LA Sue, our dark haired heroine comes a cropper against the voluptuous Ruby from Brighton in E5, (then Ruby overpowers slim Eurasian beauty Mandy from Cambridge), but E9 Straddle Challenge is also worth a look. Sue is sat upon by Miranda moaning and whimpering ( for the benefit of the cameras I reckon) as she is overpowered unexpectedly by the more inexperienced Miranda. The next two bouts feature the gorgeous Carrie, who looks great being dominated by Sue and, in the final bout, by Miranda. Carrie may not be the best Festelle wrestler, but she is such a lovely jobber.

Susan is from Bolton, near Manchester, if memory serves. For obvious reasons she had an avid fan base & I was never sure if the NZ story was true or just a way of shaking off her admirers! Some of whom were a little too obsessed with her. The TPC/Festelle clientele of 20 -25 years ago contained some very well connected and influential individuals who wouldn't have been easy to shake off.

Susan had a habit of losing to some of the glamour girls like Stacey because that's where she wanted to be :-) and when she fought guys.....she knew where they wanted to be!! I'm struggling to think of a more sensual wrestler from the UK over the last 25 years - I think she's No 1.

Here's Susan attempting to bring down heavyweight Helen in a Festelle bout from 1988.

Yes, all capable wrestlers, but at her peak Susan would've wiped the floor with the others.
Susan came out on the wrong end of these matches because she wanted to. Towards the end of her time with TPC, Phil B was struggling to get opponents for Susan because they were put off by the possibility of having to deal with her attention!

Thanks for all these posts - and especially for the fab four picture. Anna - sigh......
I used to go to WSC events in Wembley and Norfolk when I could, and have great memories of the bouts. I liked the prematch buildup with introductions, and the girls stripping off their robes to reveal their match wear.

Another favourite of mine was Yasmin - does anyone have any news/pics of her?
Yasmin was a bit of a wild cat. She was taking part in a competitive girl-girl match during a TPC tournament in West Kensington, so the lounge of a mansion flat that some of you old lads will no doubt remember. Half way through the match a mobile phone, in another room of the apartment started ringing, Yasmin recognising it as her ring tone, broke the hold she had on her opponent, got up and ran out of the room to answer the phone!!

Phil was exasperated with her & although she was marketable we didn't see much of her after that.

The pic from Johnny Dark is of Sue with a scissor on Helen. Buxom Helen from Bromley in Kent was a bit of a novice at the time of the featured bout with Sue beating her quite comfortably.

I can recall Helen facing the might of Maggie Jennings and giving a reasonable account of herself.

I always felt great credit should go to both Maggie and Sue in taking on Helen, because I for one wouldn't like to guess the difference in weights.
