Reminds me a lot of those home videos she used to upload, back when she was trying to get recognized. A rare (these days) glimpse into the unfiltered Ronda we used to know.

This 2012 appearance on TMZ kind of represents the end of "real Ronda" for me. It was a pretty rapid ascent after that to the kind of celebrity status that puts a person too much under the microscope to be truly candid anymore. At some point in the celebrity arc, you lose the power to control your image. A good example of when things you had nothing to do with start defining you is the Rousey/Mayweather debate. I'm not sure if Joe Rogan started that but he was musing about it on his podcast and shortly after, someone asked Dana White about it. White should have shut it down and not entertained the question but he's Dana White so he did address it. I don't recall everything he said but one thing I know for certain is that he was talking about an MMA fight, not a boxing match. Dana's an oldtime boxing guy, he never would have said Rousey could out-box Mayweather. Unfortunately not everyone made that distinction. So when Ronda was (inevitably) asked about it, what she said is why should I limit myself by saying no, I could never win? In a fight where she could grab him, maybe she could win. But that didn't matter because in no time the headlines were "Ronda Rousey Says She Could Beat Floyd Mayweather In A Boxing Match". She never said that, nor did anybody else who was at all credible. But, it was too late and there were months of this fake Rousey/Mayweather controversy.
