Default Scissor holds in MMA

This may be a silly question but why do we never see a scissor hold submission in MMA outside of a triangle. Many times I will see a match where a girl gets her midsection caught between her opponents thighs. I've gotten caught in this position in many sessions and have had to tap to avoid cracked ribs yet time and time again I see it in matches and the girl never taps.

Rico, a scissor rarely triggers any pains on a trained fighter. They have extreme "gainage". The only way would be to squeeze at the right time so that it cut their breathing at the bad time or brutally compresses an organ, but they are used to avoiding that.
Also, applying a scissors put you at risk for a fatal knee bar and some deadly blows.

Well, if you attack the neck of not so good practitioners, that's another story.

Nice. I've submitted to that very hold more times than I can remember.

It's hard to make an MMA fighter of the same size tap to a bodyscissor.

Here Kortney Olson does a bodyscissor in a BJJ-match, and they tell her it's forbidden.

It isn't, though. I've trained BJJ and a scissor i perfectly legal. Why do they say it's not?

The headscissors is 100% legit...its just not respected or even taught in most BJJ, but they are slowly learning.

The bodyscissors is a bit trickier, the comment about gainiage is correct for most trained athletes, but it can still be done if enough leverage and force is prevalent. It was one of the first holds banned from judo because of the damage it can do
