"Healthy body, healthy mind and healthy attitude – these are the essential features of an ideal human being. Particularly for women, who face a lot of mental and physical stress within and outside the house, keeping the body, mind and soul fit is much needed.

Ours is a male-dominated society. One can hardly find people who exercise purity of thought and purity of talk towards the fairer sex. If you are weak, people tend to dominate you and if you are strong, they make all sorts of comments behind your back. But I feel the present-day woman is not weak. She has the capability to challenge the might of men in all aspects. To be mentally and psychologically strong, women have to maintain their fitness all the time. You have to make men kneel down, if they try to harm your dignity.

The power of women should never be underestimated. I can recall an experience of mine a few years ago when I was getting ready to compete in the world body building championship. I was driving my car to attend a wedding ceremony and I was dressed up like any other normal woman – wearing a nice saree and sleeveless blouse and had “gajra” in my hair. Two men riding a bike tried to overtake me. They started making all sorts of nasty comments and gestures at me. I stopped my car, got down and started hitting both of them black and blue. They might have never expected a ‘shy-looking’ to beat them singlehandedly. I left them only after they touched my feet and apologised for their behaviour.
Had I been a normal homemaker, which I was till 10 years ago, I might not have had the courage to fight with men on street to protect myself. I never thought I would get into body-building. I joined a gym only with the intention of keeping my body fit and healthy. But once I chose it as a profession, I realised how important it is for a woman to be mentally and physically strong in this male-dominated world. My fitness enhanced my confidence levels. One of my friends from abroad remarked that Indian women are the toughest. We can do whatever we want. I am a live example of this

They do not have this sort of consistency. Everything is either bad or good depending on the bullshit they are pushing, and that can change mid sentence if it suits them.

Muscle girl "Linda D*urbesson" show off her strong arms , the crowd and guys go crazy. The admiring males all want to take pictures of her, be close to her and so on :-)

Last week it was "Idrottssgalan" on Swedish television. Its sports/athletic award show. It's swedens version of super bowl, and one of the most viwed tv-shows this year.
And now its also a real feast for female muscle fans. Before, females athletes where almost ashamed of their musuclar bodies and where mostly covering themself up during these events, but this have change alot and now female atheltes are very proud of their strong and muscular bodies, and happy to show off in sleeveless.

It was a long show and there was female muscle everywhere, not only on stage but also clips from the audience showed off this alot, and its soo great to see. It was clear the arena was filled with female muscle :-)

The female athlete took almost every award as swedish female atheltes have been very successful this year brining much more medals than the guys.

The male athlete of the year , Daniel Ståhl world champ in discus, was lifted up in the air on stage by an female strongwoman champ !!! LOL (he wheight is 155 kg ( 345 pounds).

Ok, i know 96% of Viewers here cant understand Swedish, but they are talking about this new big trend in society about the ideal now for woman and girls is to be muscular.

Thay showing pictures of this also. This seems to be true now in sweden, isn't it great news :-)

There is alot of media in sweden about this. Only today i read about it in two diffrent newspaper (the link above is from today also...)

I don't speak Swedish. But the question is what research demonstrates that people en masse prefer muscular women over thin ones.

Perhaps studies do show that, maybe not.

But the fact alone that someone says it on TV doesn't necessarily prove anything.
