I did think it was odd how you started promoting your own productions in huge ads at the top of the page.

I agree. We should do this so that small businesses who've "got it right" can keep making great stuff.

As a producer ( I have written Zweig twice to change my status) I would like point out a few things (forgive me if this has been discussed in other posts) Most producers are not making very much money. Most have real jobs to support the costs of making videos which can be several hundred dollars per video. Pirating even a few videos can be the difference between profit and loss for the month. The music ($15 billion) and movie ($10 billion) industries can tolerate piracy because they make millions in profit each year.

The best way that I can equate piracy for members of this forum who are non-producers would be to compare it to having a wrestling session then not paying for a wrestling session and telling the session girl that you just want to try her out and if you like the session then you might pay for another session later. If a session girl gave this story, the forum members would be up in arms. No matter how you try to justify it, not paying for goods or services is theft. If you are fine with stealing things and not paying for it, then that’s your moral issue.

As producers, however, we need to listen to some of the forum complaints and provide accurate descriptions of matches and lots of previews so that customers can make informed decisions and not feel ripped off. We can’t please all of the people all of the time, but we should make an effort. On my website there are previews (some short, some long) of every video I sell as well as at least 85 free photos, and some free whole videos in my blog area.

What is the name of your website jobberboy ?

Be a producer like zweig and encourage the free sharing of video from other producer , It is indeed impossible to defend.

Anyway, I will continue to what I did , maybe on another board. Buy some video and download some others

If this is the case, could someone start a list of allowed(defunct) producers then? A reverse of the list of banned producers, I guess. I'd do it, but don't have enough knowledge.

Good idea!

On general topic:

I like the idea of everyone buying some and sharing, with everyone better off - as with music, no one buys ALL the music he/she listens to. As this sadly doesn't seem to work due to links being posted elsewhere and the board having become too big and the userbase too uncontrollable (due to its sheer size), Zweig's move seems plausible and understandable.

I just wish videos could be a little cheaper, perhaps producers could try playing around with special sale actions. It works fine on steam, for example: I definitely buy more games just because they're on sale because I'm like "well, it's cheap enough to take the risk!".

WOW WTF, this forum was all about "sharing" and this new forum policy totally removes that.
