Re: Asian/western culture difference
Seems to me violence/murder during sex is far more present in Asian (Japanese, but not only) culture. Sex is viewed more as a power relationship between a subject who raps/inflicts sex to a victim and sometimes this relationship is underlined by the violence implied. In manga/anime/hentai/JAV porn is very common to find sex mixed with gore/murder/torture/violence, while in western pornography/art/culture this is more uncommon and randomly depicted. And of course being Asian societies and cultural habits founded on men power/patriarchy usually the victim is the woman (tentacles hentai and such kind of porn...). Nonetheless the other way round, in witch a woman tortures/kills/abuses the man is well present and a sort of special perversions, a sort of genre on its own. Do you agree? What do you think? Can there be a link between strongly patriarchal cultures and this sort of secret fear of feminine power (given to women by sex) that is sometimes depicted as something especially "spicy", perverted, so to speak...?

Not to mention manga and hentai porn heroines/villainess. Last edited by pincopallo; 03-Jun-19 at 20:43. |

The above seems to be true in relation to entertainment/movies etc. However in real life violence is far rarer in oriental Asia (especially in Japan) than in the West, which makes the conundrum more interesting. Why the love of it for entertainment but not in real life...? |

Re: Asian/western culture difference
Very intersting point, James...
The more patriarchal a society is, The more matriarchy/femdom is an enterteinment fetish? And The more pacific a society is, the more violence is an enterteinment fetish? |
