Some things to try:
Run System Restore from the DOS Command line (varies with operating system so google 'system restore cmd line' that uses your particular OS for the exact syntax and process).
Or if you have another computer or an external USB Hard Disk cable, you can remove the corrupt drive and connect/install it into another computer and then scan the drive with antivirus and malware cleaner software.

The file MSCONFIG.EXE is what you run to turn off the startup processes. I recommend youtube if you want step-by-step instructions on how to easily access and use this, same with sys restore

I've also got this FBI virus, TWICE. It locked the computer up and I couldn't do anything to remove that FBI screen. The first time I took it to a computer store and they fixed it. Second time I got it I hit control alt delete (I had to hold it for a long period of time) until the screen popped up and allowed me to remove the FBI screen and allow my computer to function again. I then used system restore and then ran my scans and updates and that seemed to fix things. I know nothing about computers but I'm glad things seemed to work out for me the second time (without costing me some virus removal/repair money).

Yep seen it before reboot in safe modus (in my case restart pc and press F8 when you hear a bleep) and choose configuration --> systeem to restore your pc to an older date. (pick the earliest day before you had the virus alert)
Or if normal safe modus doesn,t work reboot in dos modus and type rstrui.exe to get into the pc restore modus
Hope this helps.

God, I'm glad I have a Mac. Not to say we don't get viruses and malware these days, too, but nothing like this.

There are also places for Windows users that have downloadable antivirus boot disks -- a CD or DVD you can boot the computer from that has a basic operating system of its own as well as antivirus/antimalware software. I had one with the @ symbol on it that was burned for me by a friend, so I don't remember the name of the software but I do know it exists.

Smile Re: Danger To All Members !

I started this thread, and I would like to thank all members who offered help. I am very pleased to say, that as I was fumbling around in one of the safe modes, I stumbled on the option to use malware bytes. The virus has now gone and computer functionallity is restored.

I also fell foul of this virus, seemingly from a thumbnail viewer site or a filesharing host. not 100% sure where I picked it up as I had several tabs/windows open... i may or may not have been looking at thumbnails from a thread on this forum. Can't remember for sure.

Luckily was able to boot in safe mode and do a system restore, even more luckily I had just backed everything up a few days beforehand and was planning on doing the restore anyway to speed things up!

I also think it came from this forum. I was, as I stated, the first to report it. I now think it might have come from a thread about japanese femdom and fetish. It can be got rid of----I'm just not sure how I did it.
