It's not just throws. There are submissions and pins (osaekomi) in judo competitions. I don't you watched all judo competitions.

Kimura beat Helio with an armlock not a throw.

My description of judo competitions comes from reference books ("The Judo Handbook," "Black Belt Judo").

Where does yours come from?

My description of the issues with Kodokan Judo comes from the Gracie academy's web site.

Where does yours come from?

Kimura's match came 35 years after the Gracies were introduced to Kodokan Judo. Kimura trained several arts, including pro wrestling.

I asked two questions.

You blew them off and now want me to answer yours.

Sheena told me that in my session with her and she's a black belt. She told me other rules and details, but I don't remember all of that.

BJJ is derived from newaza (ground techniques in Judo). They just scam people for 10 years to give them the black belt.

So tell me why after only 4 months of BJJ I could submit quite a bunch of judo black belt who were twice my weight? But this is just me...

Have also a look at what it means for professionals and world champions:

LOL at bringing up MMA trying to prove that Judo isn't an effective submission grappling art.

For a start, the best MMA fighter of all time Fedor Emelianenko comes from Judo background and didn't even train Jiu Jitsu (in his own words: "I don’t train Ju Jitsu at all") during his epic 10 year run.

Yeah. I heard that this guy from Judo background is really weak when the fight hits the ground, I think that even a regular BJJ blue belt would easily submit him...

LOL, it's MMA. A lot of BJJ black belts were submitted by people who were not even ranked in BJJ and were technically white belts.

Jon Jones was a BJJ white belt when he submitted BJJ black belts Vitor Belfort and Lyoto Machida.

Mighty Mouse is a BJJ white belt and recently submitted the BJJ black belt Wilson Reis with a spectacular armbar.

By your own logic, "BJJ black belts have a way of getting submitted in MMA."

Those Judokas you mentioned submitted a lot of fighters themselves.

Olympic Judoka Hector Lombard has 7 wins by submission and 0 losses by submission. He destroyed the elite BJJ guys Shields and Palhares.

Ronda didn't have any rank in BJJ and was a BJJ white belt. Her submission skills were from Judo.

Wow this thread got dumb in a hurry. It's even quicker to say that both BJJ and Judo have good points and when 2 well-trained fighters meet nobody has much of an idea what will happen.
