Weight differences aside, Michelle's takedowns and ground game aren't good enough to keep Conor McGregor on his back.

Miesha Tate might be able to, or perhaps Cat Zingano, Ronda Rousey (pre-Holly Holm KO), Claudia Gadelha or Rose Namagunas.

They'd have to keep their distance on the feet, and take him down when opportunity presented itself.
Let's get real. I detest Conor, but none of those named could take and keep him down. We don't even know yet if Khabib can do that, although I'll certainly be rooting for him.

So how do you know none of them could take him down and keep him down?

A high-level 120-lb female athlete is still a 120-lb female athlete, so no, Michelle is not keeping Conor down.

If Holly could wrestle, she would have already done it. She cannot wrestle at a high enough level to keep a stronger, heavier male fighter on his back.

At 155 lbs, yes, Kayla Harrison could hold Conor on the ground. In a grappling or judo match, my money would be on her. He's strong and he's a fighter, but take away the striking component and she's got a skill set he has not YET demonstrated that he's got. Of course, if he's spent the last 2 years training 4 hours/day in BJJ, then he would have a shot.

If smaller opponents couldn’t keep down larger fighters, Royce Gracie would not have won those early UFCs.

The question is which female fighters have the ground chops to it against McGregor.

My guess is Miesha or pre-KO Ronda, or perhaps Cat Zingano circa 2012.

Miesha could get any of us chumps down, let's just leave it at that.

Do you honestly believe that a thin, 120-lb woman is in the same strength class as an athletic 155-lb male?

And do you think a smaller woman vs larger man is generally equivalent to small man vs larger man?

I don't know what you mean by equivalent. But of course she's not as strong.

But if strength is all that matters on the ground, why did Royce Gracie defeat bigger, stronger fighters when he took them down?

Because the majority of them had no proper takedown defense, and no grappling experience, you Feckless Neophyte . Early UFC was oriented towards style vs style matches and didn't have the well rounded MMA fighters that you have today. And not many people knew about BJJ during those times. Even your precious Gracie isn't invincible, as he got his shit rekd in by matt hughes.

you'd think this would be obvious, but instead you use such shitty logic like "if all strength is what matters".

it must make you fume knowing that brock lesnar or conner would put your precious female fighters in a coma if a legitimate fight were to occur

Great, but what does that have to do with whether strength determines who wins on the ground?

And why did you create a new screen name just to respond to my last post?
