Grappling Herrig vs Casey

I'm really looking forward to the Felice Herrig vs Cortney Casey fight this weekend. I'm a fan of both girls but like Felice a bit more so I'll be rooting for her and I'm fairly confident she will win though it could go either way. I will make one prediction. The fight will end via rare naked choke. Both girls have used the hold to gain victories and both look to go for the hold every opportunity they get. I remember one of Felice's fights she had her opponent in an arm choke almost the entire final round. Had that fight been today Felice would have easily finished her as her strength has improved tremendously since then.
Also looking forward to seeing Michelle fight again.

Just watched the fight and was extremely disappointed. I'm glad Felice got the decision but I think it could have went either way. I just wish there would have been more action. Not Felice's best fight but a win is a win.

I missed it, not a great fight apparently. Unless you buy the theory that actionless, very close fights indicate great skill of both fighters.

Hope Michelles fight will be entertaining.

It was a tango, really, more than a fight. Two steps forward, punch punch, two steps back. Rinse and repeat. Bruno, Len and Carrie Ann should’ve judged the thing, and either could have got that decision.

Not a great night for Karate Hottie eIther. ABC looked impressive against Magana though.

I'm with with the consensus here - a bit of a snoozer between Felice and Casey.

That said, they can't all be classics and both women were cut and bruised by the end. It could have gone either way but was glad to see Felice get the nod and keep her streak going. I'd like to see her against a top 5 ranked opponent next. There's a lot of talent in the strawweight division but Felice seems to perform best when she's the underdog.

I agree. I was just a little disappointed that she didn't show better. I think she's come a long way and is a real threat in the division going forward. I thought the same about Rose a few years ago and look where she is now. We could be looking at a future champion in Felice. I also think Casey is a lot better than a lot of people gave her credit for, including me.

She's a lot better than her record suggests, that's for sure and has bettered herself enormously over the past 18 months. The Cortney Casey of 2017 would destroy the Cortney Casey of 2015 who lost to Seo See Ham. She's a big 115er and is starting to use her attributes well.

As much as I like Felice, I'd strongly bet against that. She's a hard worker, but doesn't appear to have the talent/athleticism that top girls in the division have. This shows in her lack of creativeness. Rose for example was a martial arts child prodigy and has a huge arsenal of weapons and knowledge to draw from - from contemporary Boxing and BJJ to traditional Karate and Taekwondo. She is very difficult to train for.

I would actually love to see Rose fight Felice and it's a little strange they haven't fought because they've been in the same organisations for years and both were on TUF. Just to see them sharing the Octagon and fighting for the belt would be cool.
