Yes, I know it is about money; I'm not an idiot.

However, I find it very hard to believe that Saudi freaking Arabia would be the most ideal place monetarily.

They’re getting 20 million a year for 10 years, basically for the RAW and Smackdown tapes. This is virtually free money for them. They’re not going to turn that down.

More than just Saudi Arabia, WWE hopes to build a market in the whole Middle East region (like a lot of other sports).
And they think compromises like this whill help, but at the end contracts are the only thing what counts here.

Then they should have the show in a more flexible place. Egypt or Turkey would have been better.

You keep talking about the show. The show was bullshit. It was a glorified house show, nothing more. The 50 man Rumble was a dog and pony production. Strowman just got a meaningless trophy and belt for winning. The only title change was for a vacant title. They didn’t even coronate Roman.

This was all just something to gift the Saudis for their 200 million contributions to WWE’s coffers.
