Default Female teams vs Mens team in real sport

Do you have some stories about female teams taking on male teams in competitive sports?

Here is one fun example:

Dig this! On Jan. 20 2004 the first intercollegiate squash team between a men's and a women's team took place in California.
The Yale women trounced the Stanford men 9 - 0. !!!!

Yale Women's Squash: East Meets West

Women's squash players Devon Dalzell, Abby Epstein and Frances Ho share their reflections on the team's winter break trip to California.

This January, instead of our usual week of training at the end of Christmas vacation, when the Yale Women's Squash team typically resides in snowy, deserted New Haven, we traveled out to California. The intense week of double practices culminated with a historic match against the Stanford Men's team. The match marked the first time in the history of intercollegiate squash that an official match was played between a women's and a men's squash team. Not only was the outcome of the match, a 9-0 victory to the Yale women, momentous; the location was significant as well. The competition between the two teams demonstrates how drastically the quality of women's college squash has improved over the last few years. Additionally, the fact that the Yale team traveled out to California to play a season match illustrates how much the game has spread recently from the northeast.

The unique nature of squash, and the reality that it is a sport which relies heavily on skill rather than sheer power, makes it one of the only intercollegiate sports in which a competitive match could occur between a men's and a women's team. As our coach Mark Talbott said in an email to the Dean of Yale College, "Their team had a lot of class and was great about playing women. They just appreciated the competition. It was terrific that men and women could compete on an equal basis and treat each other as such." The captain of the Stanford Men's team, Rich Sherwood echoed Mark's sentiments regarding the mutual respect and admiration between the teams. "We were all very impressed with the way your team played and acted, we certainly all agree that we lost to very talented opponents. Leading up to the match, we did not view the match as a 'Battle of the Sexes' but more as good practice."

Traveling to Stanford was a fantastic experience for everyone on the team. The overall match score did not reflect how competitive the individual matches were. Playing against men provided a true test of the physical training we have been doing throughout the season, as well as valuable preparation for upcoming matches against other strong women's teams. The match also proved just how high the quality of women's intercollegiate squash has risen over the past few years, as the top women's teams now provide formidable competition for men. Approaching the match, both teams put aside the issue of gender and viewed each other as worthy opponents. Ultimately however, the experience of the Yale women overcame the power game of the Stanford men. All members of the Yale team have been playing for a number of years, and most were nationally or internationally ranked as juniors. Many of the Stanford men have picked up the game in college, for squash has just begun to gain popularity on the west coast. With such athleticism and drive, in upcoming years as the players gain experience; the Stanford teams will certainly be challenging the established east coast powerhouses. The Stanford and Cal Berkeley men's and women's teams join the newly formed University of Utah men to represent the west while there has also been a strong movement in the ACC league where UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, and NC State, have formed club teams and plan to eventually compete in the team championships. University of Virginia sent a men's team to the Championships for the first time last year as did the Stanford women.
---------------

That had to be extremely humiliating for the guys on that team.

I'll bet they certainly did'nt expect to get slaughtered like that. Those girls must have been pretty full of themselves after that and who could blame them?

I know of a game of rugby that occurred in the late 1990s between the Australian women's team and the new south wales (a state of Australia) under 16 boys team - full on game, the boys won about 40-12. Also there is a game that is big in Australia and new Zealand called touch football - a semi contact variation of rugby with 6 on the field where quite regularly women's teams have training games against men's teams. Also mixed touch is very popular too and in some competitions, all women's teams play mixed teams, with the womens team regularly winning. I have plated in and wit.eased quite a few games where the best player on the field in mixed game has been a woman or girl.

Yes, I also had such idea. But somehow it's not allowed, despite all blah about "gender equality". I know why. Because female sport teams, especially basketball (in all the world), women's soccer in Europe and Russia are ruled by LESBIANS. Since feminist=lesbian, rule of feminism doesn't allow it, because it will destroy the lesbian paradise.

Sorry, you have no counter-arguments, so you can only insult me. And it means - I am right. Well, I am not misogynistic or miso-... I am just against this wrong idea, that 50% of people are ALWAYS victims and opressed and other 50% are opressors and criminals and all depends on presence or absence of dick. You have same logic as religious fundamentalists. When I try to tell him: boy, our Earth has many billions of age and Homo sapiens is just product of evolution as all the life; he yells: "you are Satan, you are for gay parades and abortions and all the evil". Or tell Muslim it's no "paradise" with 72 gals. BANG!!!

Or remember Rwanda: Hutus said: these damned Tutsi opress us, they take all the top places, we, poor Hutus, are opressed. Result - a bloody massacre and high profits for somebody. And main war mongers were also media with their propaganda.

Salisbury School Hockey Team Scrimmages 2013-14 U.S. Women's National Team

On Saturday, November 23, 2013, members of the School’s hockey program faced off against the 2013-14 U.S. Women’s National Team in front of a packed house in the Flood Athletic Center.

The women's team came out fast in the first period and scored quickly, but the boys bounced back in the last two periods to pull out a 3 -1 win. The focus was not on winning or losing, though, as the event was a great opportunity to share the "secret" that is Salisbury School. Salisbury School thanks the U.S. Women's National Team for the opportunity to skate against them and wish them luck as they continue down the road to Sochi.

I don't remember exactly when it was, but for several years women won the Ididerod race in Alaska. No handycap, anything. They flat out won.
