Default Who could beat Amanda Nunes?

Do you think there is any female in the world who can defeat her in mma?
My best bet would be Amanda Leve in a few years and it would be cool to hear your opinions!

V-Shev came really close last time and I think probably wants another shot at it at Bantamweight. Might work since Nunes claims she is having more and more trouble making weight there so the weight cut might weaken her. But before such a fight could take place, Amanda might just give up the Bantamweight crown and fight exclusively at Featherweight. Or Cyborg might return to the UFC. Maybe Amanda's victory over her was just a one-off.

No one right now. She probably should fight at a higher weight. She's the champ and if someone wants a shot at her belts, if their lower should move up in weight to fight her. " The Lioness" is box office. And she should set the terms

She'll be favourite against anyone in the UFC (but favourites can lose). In order for her to be an underdog at the current time, she'd have to fight someone much heavier than herself, e.g. Gabi Garcia, but that can't happen in the UFC as Nunes is in the UFC's heaviest female weight class.

If Germaine de Randaine worked on her take down defense I would love to she her rematch Nunes.

Amanda wanted no part of her stand up and clinch game.

I'm a male who's been involved in fight sports and I admit I'd get absolutely dominated by Amanda Nunes, she has it all and is so versatile, her power, her strikes and grappling and just her instinct is unreal! Shes ridiculously dominant and the girls have a few years of being beaten up by her!

For me, there are 2 clear candidates.

Cris Cyborg and Kayla Harrison.

Valentina Shevchenko is a possibility, she came close, but her gameplan would need reassessing if she were to have another crack. Far too passive in the early rounds. UFC may have no option but to push them together again.

I think Cyborg is gone for good. Her relationship with Dana White is completely in tatters. When you have Jorge Masvidal and Jon Jones threatening to leave and Henry Cejudo and Conor McGregor 'retiring' it's clear fighters feel they're getting raw deals in the UFC. Parent company WME are trying to run the sport on the cheap. Like I said before, Cyborg left because she was out of contract and they tried to re-sign her on the cheap and at this point in her career, Cyborg shouldn't be fighting cheap.

If they were to try to sign her, Kayla Harrison won't come cheap. Claressa Shields in some kind of cross-over won't come cheap.

It harks back to the days when Chuck Liddell was the champion at 205 and they were feeding him the likes of Babalu and Jeremy Horn in between rematches with Randy and Tito. Other top fighters were out there, but they were in Pride at the time (Rampage, Shogun, Henderson).

In the mean time, we're left with dominant champions and few, if any, compelling challengers.

Holly recently announced her next fight will be against Irene Aldana. I guess the winner of that one could get a title shot. Aldana has demonstrated decent Boxing and knockout power. Holly, with her improved clinch work and good cardio might have a chance if she can survive round 1.

Added after 10 minutes:

In the meantime we can also reminisce about Cathilee Deborah Zingano in her prime.

Realistically everyone can beat everyone in MMA. Only needs one slip or fluke and it's over.
Cat Zingano lost because a of toe in her eye by a kick.

Nunes went from takedown and ground and pound BJJ girl to precision striker.
However she still has those takedowns and groundgame when needed, she just relies a lot less on it.

Germaine with improved takedown defense might do well.
Cyborg even though she seems sloppy and overrelatiant on being the biggest banger in that cage.
Rousey with improved striking and entries.
Shevchenko nearly did it twice.

Nunes seems explosive and uses a pace that conserves her energy while avoiding long wrestling exchanges that she did in past losses (Davis and Zingano).
If someone can grind her up against the cage and deplete that energy she might slow down.

A smaller Shevchenko drained her in their first match but was unable to create enough (clinch) exchanges to tire her the second time.
