A person can be altruistic while also looking out for one's own interests.

Mikayla is a longtime veteran, and it's common for the more experienced people in many industries and endeavors to share general wisdom with newer arrivals.

If more providers follow that counsel, then that should yield:

1) more price support on the supply side
2) better understanding - and thus price support - on the demand side

The fewer emails/DMs Mikayla has to reply to regarding "well, can you discount MY session the way Lady Z did?" the happier she will be, which means better sessions for the guys who do see her...guys who are willing to make any sacrifices needed to meet her terms.

Yes, I have a vested interest in protecting prices across all spectrums of my niche and also near-adjacent niches as well, but consider the following:

1) on the production side, higher prices for models = smaller margins for me

2) When I buy videos from other companies, I'm paying higher prices.

3) I'm also a session consumer. I'm very happy to pay top dollar for the best service - price is literally never an issue with the providers I like - but if I'm stepping off the reservation to try a new spot, I argue there is significant risk in paying even the lowest price in that range. I may be able to absorb the $300 loss as a "Stupid Tax" if a session fails to meet even minimum expectations, but I'm not getting that time back.

So, while I'm not exactly the same sort of client as the vast middle of sessiongoers, I really am "one of the guys".

Respect for the shop, in that hypothetical situation, its not about respect, you set the price. Its not a matter of "should " change the price point but "could." Price setting is about supply and demand, buy not wholey. You have to determine price point based on your overhead, your cost, and ability to move product. What price point makes most sense for you to end up on the black on the finance sheet.

It's the same with sessions. What price makes sense to keep in the black in finances. I had this conversation with a provider not to long ago. She was considering lowering her prices, but doing so would require her to book more sessions and open herself up to a larger clientele that could potentially be less desirable. Just Nt business you have to take into account supply, demand, overhead, potential loss and gain in sales at a price point. Simply what is the most efficient way to stay on the plus side of finances, and at what point things need to change. When you talk about respecting a business or business plan, I respect your or anyone's right to set their prices as they wish. As a consumer it is my place to determine if the value I get from the product is worth the price tag to me.

When guys are pissed about a girl being too expensive its a matter of the guys evaluation of the experience is lower then the cost of the experience. I have excused myself from inquiries when they price was higher then my desire. And I have over paid for experiences because it was a "bucket list " opportunity.

The initial post stating the standard for sessions now is $300-500 isn't wrong, its just what it is. You just have to bottom end and top end of what women think they can kmget and keep their business viable.
