I do not see why people cannot post in whatever language they wish, particularly given the availability of translating tools

Surely this site is an English speaking site and if it isn't, it should be. If we don't use English ( or the bastardized American version of it ), then the site will degenerate into a forum of mixed languages and will start to feature Japanese, Chinese, Russian etc. Lets follow the rule set in Civil Aviation and all use English. Anyone not wanting this----start your own forum.

Why is it an issue for people to speak other languages?

If you want to know what these folks were saying, just use Google Translate:

I just love Italian, whether I understand it or not. Wish I knew it better.
Maybe I can make a "wrestling trip" to Italy sometime.

I think that maybe one of us was having a bad day...

I'd like to welcome TuscanWrestler to the site. And in a more diplomatic fashion, let's just say that even though we come from all parts of the World, we typically use the English language when posting on the site as it appears to be the most common language among the majority of us. No harm, no foul. Rock on!

Imagine, if I stumbled onto a Chinese underground wrestling/fetish site, my dream....lol. I posted in English and conected with some Chinese locals who spoke English as a second language and we begin talking. Then someone comes along and says I am not welcome, Chinese only.

Every country I have visited (13), most of the people went out of their way to help me navigate their language. We as Americans should try to elevate our empathy for people who speak a different language. Sometimes I feel we are a little bit superior in our attitude. My two cents.

Telling people what language they must use smacks of xenophobia.

I only speak English, but I've used Google Translate to converse with people in other languages.

We may have jerks galore in Washington, but I fail to see why we have to act like them.
