Default Making money doing this?

Hi all,

Wanted to ask your opinions on the viability of making money selling amateur-ish videos.
Long story short, I can speak Mandarin, and have found a massive number of girls who are totally fine with me video taping our fun wrestling matches. They usually end up sgpining and headscissoring me. Wanted to ask, if I made a collection of these vids, is there a potential way to make a reasonable penny from selling these videos?

I realise this is broad, but I think there is a gap in the market for these kinds of realistic videos. Just wanted to put it out there and see y'all thoughts.

Thanks in advance
B.

Short answer is yes. Give it a try. It's not a lucrative business, but as long as you produce content that people want to see, you'll do fine. If you need more advice, feel free to pm me.

There was a line in the movie "Control-Alt-Delete", a not very good movie about porn addiction, where one guy said "people don't want amateur porn. They want professional porn that looks amateur", and I think that's true.

Nobody wants bad lighting or bad angles, but there is a certain charm to something that looks home made but it well filmed.

Several ladies have tried to make video companies and found it difficult and not worth the time. Most just produce videos for clips-4-sale of they make custom videos where the money is paid upfront.

I don't want to discourage you, but it's a tough business if you want to make a living. It's easier if you consider it a labor of love and you're OK with a small income.

Also, keep in mind, ladies letting you film them and ladies letting you put their videos on the internet or for sale aren't the same thing. Get their signature on a video production form if you plan on putting videos up for sale. You might have to pay them too, or offer a share of the profits.

Whether you can make money is debatable, but you could try setting up a clips4sale site, loading a few movies and do a bit of publicising on relevant forums. Comments above very relevant, amateurish footage (girl looking at the cameraman, asking questions etc) isn’t good and very important is having great lighting and a decent camera - lack of light causing darkness and/or grainy footage is a no no.
No one knows whether a new enterprise will be successful, it takes guts to start one and professionalism is essential, a half baked attitude will fail.

I am also not sure about it but there are lots of people of all kind who are producing these videos and selling them on clips4sale. Maybe you just go there, take a look and make a little market analysis. Then you can get an impression about the whole scene.

Generally I would say that for everything there is a potential market. Problem is how to get through the noise and if people are willing to pay money for it.

If you consider starting a business and making it for earning a livelihood then I would advice against it. If you like to do such videos for your own pleasure then you may give it a try.

But as James already said, if you want to try it, then you must make it look very appealing, both from the action and the actors as well as from the technical point.

I think, but that's only a guess, that the most succesful people in this business are either those who are into their stuff with all their hearts and minds, they know from their own experience what their potential customers would like, and the other group is professional businesspeople who may not be into that stuff themselves, but who know how to professionally produce an market all kind of media content.

If you are doing it because as you said you want to exploit a perceived gap in terms of these types of videos, don't. There is no gap. Tons of companies exist you just haven't heard of, doing the exact same thing. I am a businessman but not a video producer, but from my perspective of looking at this business for 20+ years, I don't think its a great profit centre. Also, what one poster might call a "reasonable" income, may be considered poverty wages for another. If you are passionate about it do it for enjoyment as a sideline and make breaking even your goal.

If this type of thing is your fetish, i say do it. Even if you only make a small profit, you will be making money to do what you love. I wouldnt advise quitting your day job to do it though.

I really admire these guys like Drew, and Jay Fox who get paid to fulfill their fetish. Instead of paying $300+ dollars for a wrestling session, they are getting paid to have sessions. I say go for it. What do you have to lose? But if you do make a profit doing it, you should pay the girls too.

Some men pay some women to beat them up. When you wrote "Making money doing this?" I thought you meant getting paid by women to beat you up. Sort of like you being a human punching bag. I guess it could be possible.

The answer is probably "no", but what do you consider to be a "reasonable penny"?
