Default Kayla: This is a game of thrones and I'm going to be the Queen

Inauthentic trash talk is so, well, inauthentic. But in the fight game, you've gotta do what you've gotta do.

I tuned in to watch Kayla fight last night, but was glad it didn't cost anything (included in my cable subscription). I didn't understand why a 33-to-1 favorite vs a severely overmatched opponent was considered the main event of the evening.

Even though her opponent, Cindy Dandois did not provide much resistance, Kayla was SUPER fit and that part was impressive. Even though there was a 99.8% likelihood she was going to win, she obviously took her prep seriously. Big thing, small thing - she says she's "not impressed" by anyone in her division, but as a professional, she remains sharp, works her plan, and stays on top of her fitness. No one is going to mistake her for a striker, but Kayla's hands are faster than I thought and she hits hard.

Like the UFC, one of the first things PFL should do is to stop classifying women's weights the same as the men's. 155 lbs is NOT a "lightweight" woman by any measure.

I'd love to see Kayla against Cyborg or Nunes at featherweight. Or against Cyborg even at lightweight.

They should just call them the 135lb division, the 155 division, etc.

People have been calling for a 165lbs division in the UFC to bridge the gaps between 155, 170 and 185 and create more 'superfights'. Bump 170 up to 175.

Of course there is the counter argument that I can see has a point also saying that would overly dilute things and we need less weight classes rather than more.

If they were to implement something like that, it would be a good time to do away with the weight class names.

.
I think 155 and 170 aren't enough for fighters in that weight group.

Those divisions have the deepest talent pools in all of MMA. Reducing them to two divisions with a 15lb gap creates log jams in both divisions and forces a lot of people to either fight undersized at 170 or cut dangerous amounts of weight to get to 155.

155-165-175 would be ideal and since the talent pool is so big, dilution wouldn't be a problem.

The ABC already adopted 165 as a legitimate division. It's the UFC who refuse the change.
