She is in a tough spot though cause there's been 4 champions (Ronda, Holly, Meisha, Nunes) in less than a year, I think, so there's a ton of rematches to work through. Fewer with Tate's retirement, but still quite a few.

So it's Nunes-Holly next, then does she get her shot as #5?

Do people here think she's as good as Nunes? Or is she all talk?
I vote for all talk.

Nunes vs Holm is hardly a forgone conclusion. First off, Holm has to get past DeRandamie, no easy task. Assuming she does, there's no guarantee the UFC is going to let Nunes fight for the 145 belt. I think they'd prefer another female champ, not a two-division title holder, but we'll see.

As for Pena, she has to beat Shevchenko first, another tough assignment. I think those two fights have to play out before we see what happens with 145. Now Megan Anderson, newly-crowned Invicta champ is calling out the Holm/DeRandamie winner, so who knows what's next.

The rematch has been announced for 30. July at UFC 277.

Pena's keys to victory;

-Survive round 1. You have to accept Nunes will probably win this round. She will probably inflict damage. She's stronger, faster, hits harder and is the more dynamically skilled fighter even on the ground when she's fresh.

This is also easier said than done. It's a huge hurdle when you consider Cyborg, Tate, Rousey, Holm, McMann and Budd were all finished in round 1 by Nunes. She is a dangerous woman and this needs to be respected. Survive round 1. If you can get her grappling, get her expending some energy and begin laying the groundwork of your gameplan without taking too much damage, that's an added extra.

-Trash talk her. Make her emotional and reckless. It's my belief that after TUF, and a lot of media interest, Pena will have trashed talked Nunes silly by the time they step into the cage. And this time, she has bragging rights too. Pena has a strong trash talking game and she needs to employ it. Let's face it, this is probably going to be the biggest, most anticipated WMMA fight of the year and Julianna can use that to her advantage.

-Be ready to check leg kicks. Looking back, it was probably a tactical error for Nunes to engage Pena on the ground in round 1. Her game plan will be to be more economical with her energy and pick her shots. I think Nunes will try to pepper her with low kicks and employ a more pop-shotting, point fighting approach. At least for the first 2-3 rounds. Build up a lead, slowing and controlling the pace of the fight, like she did against Pennington and Spencer maybe even like the 2nd Shevchenko fight.

-Get in her face and smother her. Out work her. Jab her again. Drag her into deep water and drown her. As the fight progresses, Pena will have to lean on her superior durability.

-Get her down and grapplefuck her. Nunes is a quitter once she's huffing and puffing and will look for a way out just as she did the first time.

Honestly, WMMA needs Pena to win this fight and I hope she does.
