This happened when I was a white belt...about 4 or 5 months training. A girl who is a current UFC fighter visited the gym that I trained at. We rolled and I tapped her a couple of times.

Yes, I had training, like I said 5 or 6 months at the time but am a former pro athlete...if by pro you mean was paid to play my sport! Only grappling and it was no gi.

Interesting.
Which moves did you use?
How much did you both weigh?

Was grappling her forte or more of a striker?

At the time I weighed 185lbs and she was 150lbs, but she usually fights at 135 or 125. The weight she was when we grappled is more representative of what they say..."she walk around at".

I used kimuras and armbars to get taps. She is pretty much equal in her striking and grappling...in her more recent fights, at 125lbs, she has used her greater strength to her advantage in grappling, as she is naturally a lot bigger than a lot of 125lb girls.

Than she was probably horrible or you are a big talent and should do some grappling competitions right away.

I have to disagree with you there. I just think that I was strong enough and athletic enough with just enough training to not make silly errors and catch her with a couple of subs. Since this time I have made it to purple belt and let me tell you that even now some rolls with strong and athletic white belts can be a challenge.

More likely she was horrible.
If she is training full time with a focus on groundwork she should be used to athletic people trying to use strength on her.

You perhaps might be able to power out of stuff but you don't get lucky subs.
She should be able to recognize the setups and disrupt them, perhaps stall you out in guard or at least keep her elbows safe.

Like I said. Either she was horrible or you should compete in some grappling.

You know what is interesting...I have had many sessions and I honestly think some of the session girls would beat her in a grappling match...not heaps of them...but definitely some.
