Completely outclassed Katlyn Chookagian, as predicted. The gap between Valentina and the field - at least as far as the UFC roster is concerned - is insurmountable for the foreseeable future. What I struggle to believe is that there is no 125-lb'er in the *world* who can give her a decent MMA fight. For the sake of argument, let's assume she is the absolute best and that no woman in the world can beat her at 125. Is there no one who can even go 5 rounds and push it to the scorecards?

That elbow last night was brutal. I have to give Katlyn all the credit in the world for battling through that, because I thought the ref was gonna call it since the bleeding was not completely stopped between rounds.

Lizzy took her the distance. No one currently ranked in the top 5 at 125lbs can give Valentina a competitive fight though, IMO. I have no desire to see her fight Joanne Calderwood, Lauren Murphy or Roxanne Modaferri.

Her next fight should be a 3rd crack at Amanda Nunes (who also has no foreseeable challenger) or Wei-Li Zhang moving up to challenge her if she gets past Joanna. I also feel Tatiana Suarez could give her problems if she moves up to 125lbs.

Flyweight may be her natural weight class, as she's three inches shorter than Amanda Nunes.

In addition to Kaitlyn, who was the UFC's No. 1 challenger at 125, Valentina has beaten the No. 2, Jessica Eye.

The way to beat her may be with hyper-quick submissions, a la Demian Maia-type speed.

Nunes could come down to 125. That’s the most marketable fight.

Joanna is just not natural at 125. Wei-Li might be though.

As Amanda has held both the featherweight and bantamweight belts, it would be interesting to see if she could beat Valentina at 125.

Both of Amanda's wins over her came at bantamweight, which arguably may be Amanda's natural weight given that she's 5'8".

If I'm Amanda, there's no way I'm going to 125 to face Valentina, but could a catchweight fight at 130 be doable? I would definitely pay to watch that.

The only issue is finding an incentive for Amanda to fight Valentina again, no matter the weight class.

As Amanda has beaten her twice, she could view a third bout as something from which she gains nothing, no matter the outcome.

Of course, if there's a lot of money involved ...

If Valentina racks up a few more dominant wins at 125, then the biggest possible payday for Amanda might be a rematch at something lighter than 135 and I really don't see her getting down to 125, though it's possible. If she were to go to 125 and beat Valentina in her own division, there would be nothing else to talk about. lol
