I wonder if part of the reason less boys are wrestling is they are afraid they will have to wrestle a girl, since so many more girls are wrestling now. There are videos all over the Internet of male wrestlers getting beat by female wrestlers. What high school guy would want to put himself in that potential scenario?

Lol no.

That’s clear confirmation bias. Yeah, there are numerous videos of that on YouTube, but that still represents a very small fraction of the total wrestling meets/matches all over the country and globe. Wrestling is still predominantly male, and there is no shortage of participants.

Not sure if I would say girls will dominate because numbers wise there will always be less of them but one thing is for sure......girl's wrestling is a growing sport while at many schools it is getting harder and harder to get boys to sign up for sports that involve the level of commitment that football or wrestling do.
Don't think you understand how title IX works if you think it has anything to do with boys attitudes.

The trend odds are will only go up so far simply due to biology, high school is the last stage in life in which males and females can somewhat compete on a level playing field. After that the women needs to be way up on her male opponent by some factor (skill, fitness level, weight etc.)

Very possible. It seems like women are getting stronger and men are becoming weaker.

More women are lifting and getting involved in sports, yes, but men aren’t getting weaker. I have no idea where you came up with that.

The question is why is interest in HS wrestling declining among boys?
I have a very long view on this. When I was in HS, boys wrestling, let alone girls, was unknown. The HS I went to, all boys but with not even a football team at the time, now has both football and wrestling. First boys wrestling and then girls wrestling has taken off. But the interest of boys in education in general has declined. A few decades ago, a business associate of mine, commented "Schools are run by girls for girls". I thought he might be on to something but I was not sure what. I also considered that he was going through a divorce and his wife was a school teacher. But whatever - he was prophetic. Assuming that men are not just sentenced to an inferior status, both intellectually and physically, it's certainly possible that men's wrestling may make a big comeback - but outside the academic world.

Possibly has to do with the favoritism of girls over boys that happens in education.

I must ask how exactly do you believe we are not getting weaker?

If you're just looking at a few standout individuals (Eddie Hall and Thor Bjornsson breaking the deadlift world record for example) and then turn and say "look, we're not getting weaker" ... It really does not work like that. That's like saying Jeff Bezos is getting wealthier so society as a whole isn't financially struggling more than they were decades ago when a blue collar Boomer could buy a house, pay a mortgage and support a stay-home wife, kids, pets, have 2 cars all on a fairly lowly working man's income as depicted in 80s-90s shows like The Simpsons. Homer Simpson. That way of life is now grossly out of touch with modern living.

Similarly as you can see from these statistics, they show a slow and steady decline in boys participation in HS Wrestling. We are not just talking about a one off, volatile drop and the possibility for recovery but very clear trends over a ten-year period.

I saw these statistics before they'd been updated for post-covid numbers and commented on them here.

Like I said, the trends are very clear. It's not rocket science to predict boys participation will likely continue to fall and girls continue to grow over the next decade as well. If you join the dots with the woke social narrative that "gender is a social construct" then a 1:1 ratio is the rough direction we are heading. 50% female, 50% male participation.

By the late 2020s, I predict girls will have a 20-25% percentage share. Yes it may flatten out before we arrive at 1:1 but for now, the path we are on is irrefutably clear as it has been for years. These updates just reaffirms and compounds Wrestling is a growing sport for girls and a dwindling sport for boys.

Furthermore on the subject of boys getting weaker, are you aware male testosterone levels are generally decreasing? Biological evolution is occurring. Males no longer need to be hunters, explorers, inventors or protectors as we traditionally were... We don't have any of this any more so we don't need it, we don't demand it of our biology. We're wasting away, city dwellers. Everything there at the push of a button. Machines doing it all.

I'm not making this shit up to entertain far-fetched femdom fantasies. It's all factual and verifiable.

Are you aware of the gap in education; how girls continue to get better grades, more college graduates.

[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]

Are you aware of the growing number of males that have eating disorders, anorexia?

Again, you join the dots with culture and society. You see how fashion is evolving towards androgyny.... Boys in their skinny jeans and the onus on them to be puny and weedy to look good in these kinds of clothes.

[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register][Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]

The growing trend of "unisex" products - clothes, shoes, fragrances, etc. Again, this driving narrative that "gender is a social construct".

Boys just aren't interested in sports like they used to be. A friend of mine is a teacher and he remarked how different lunch times are now... Back in our day we'd be kicking a ball or skating, biking, even scrapping... But nowadays kids are just phone zombies.

Participation is down across the board. As are sports viewing figures.

[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]

On the flip side, womens sports closes the gap;

[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]

Let's face it; the younger demographic of today's males just aren't as interested in sports. Chivalry is frowned upon. Masculinity is frowned upon. Young men are more interested in video games, veganism, climate change activism, BLM activism, transgenderism, anime, hair/makeup/fashion, getting likes on social media, smoking weed/popping pills, watching porn and so on.

If you're still not convinced, male suicie rates are rising.

[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]

Males are literally giving up, checking out of life altogether.

So how on earth can you say we're not getting weaker in comparison to women? The genders are clearly becoming more homogenised, lines are being blurred. It's irrefutable.
