(The site is in Finnish)
In the video there are two Finnish fitness celebrities. They are doing the same fitness test which is required to pass in order to become a firefighter.

The tests include bench press, crunches, pull-ups and squats.
In the first three you can see the man is better, even though the girl gives a solid competition. However when it comes to the squats she was actually stronger with her 33 reps when compared to the man doing 32.

I have to say I admire her fitness. Her legs definitely look stronger, too.

Damn, that girl, Oona, is a total babe. And she passed the muscle-test very easy :-)

I mentioned this in a thread once. When I was 17 this Brazilian girl was on the leg press and I was trying to show off a bit by doing 10 pullups in front of her. There was some prolonged eye contact earlier. I went on the leg press after her and couldn't do it. I didn't think she was nearby and she popped up behind me and said "Here, let me help you with that". I was confused for a moment before she adjusted the height for me. I had nothing to say but thanks. She smiled, laughed a bit and walked off. Of course I still couldn't leg press it.

I live in Norway and I work out serveral days a week. Strength training is very popular in Norway, especially among young people, and actually more girls are lifting weights than guys (shown by statistical research). There is also a different mindset, as girls in general are lifting heavier. There is also an enormous increase in girls doing powerlifting and crossfit, and strength sport in general. In Norway more girls are participating in powerlifting contests than guys (quite astonishing). There was a shift I think about 10-15 years ago, probably influenced by the media, crossfit and strong-is-the-new-skinny etc. And reserach shows that heavy lifting has many health benefits and makes you look good, and many more girls have opened their eyes to this message. The girls and women I see at my nearby gym are young people, university students etc. , and most of the girls look spectacular, very fit, very proud of themselves, well dressed and using make-up at the same time. They would kick an untrained mans butt for sure. And many of them actually outlift me too, even though I have been lifting on and off for 2-3 years. I find that both exciting and disturbing at the same time :-)
What do they outlift you in? And what are your lifts?

I know I am very weak by male standards. For the last months i have skipped doing a lot of barbel / dumbell moves because I easily get wrist pain among other things. So for a lot of upper body exercise I use machines, which are more easy on the joints. Before that I was usually doing military press 35kg (working set), 55kg (benchpress), squat 70-75 kg. I do conventional deadlifts (100kg ), and hip thrusts (working set 100kg). My arms are my weakest. I do biceps curls with 10kg dumbbels. (10 reps at the most). Triceps push-down using rope, 15-17,5kg.(working set).

In my gym I regularly observere girls lifting more than me, for example benching 60kg+, squatting and deadlifting 100kg+ (sometimes much more than that), hip thrusting 150-200kg. Curling with heavier dumbbels. My tricpeps pushdown is a joke, many girls are using 25-35kg on that one.

My ex-girlfriend and her friend started lifting seriously using a personal trainer, and after 6 months they both outlifted me.

Interesting thanks

Focus on your form and rest time to avoid injuries

As for being out lifted, I don't have any stories for that.. I tend to be very solitary at the gym. I just put my earphones in and get to work, don't make eye contact or focus on other people etc. Bench is over 100kg now.

However I regularly see a brazilain escort for scissors and she can squat 130+ kg. I'm sure that if I went gym with her she would outdo me on some of the leg stuff.
