Default How to find jobbers

I'm a little bit curious about how producers find (male) actors.
Do you need to be involved in the "fetish-society" or just send the producers an e-mail with my "qualifications"?
I'm asking because I'm an student and therefore I can't afford a private session.
But there's a little opportunity that I may spend one semester in the States

Hi C., write to one of the producers.... or several of them! The good ones should be looking to include fresh new faces, if they're intelligent and enterprising. If I were still in the business *I* would be. Customers don't want to see the same Old Dudes "getting squished" as 'Bob Davis' often fondly put it back in the Silver Age. Hopefully you bring that "something extra" that will work for them.

Yeah, I find myself hoping that some of these dudes will "retire." If I were up for being filmed, I'd be volunteering.
But I'd avoid contacting some companies, most actually, there seems to be a big emphasis on "acting ability" IYKWIM

Hahahaaa I know EXACTLY what you mean, *but* please remember I was one of those dudes, and yes I did retire. A few times I'd wrestle seriously and competitively, but for the most part, the fellas and gals I was working with were of the Staged Scenario variety. What can I say, *we had fun*, and while many men here dislike that variety of vid, many other DO, and there was much money to be made while personal fantasies and fetishes were being indulged.
What a country!

I think the term "jobber" refers to someone who shoots many videos for a big period of time usually for more than one studio.

As for you...just ask them.

@galaxy_advisory:
Sounds nice. How did you become a jobber ? And did you have to pay any income tax?

Oh, I see. In Germany we call people "jobbers" when they work occasionally. In the first place I wondered if I should write "actor". But I decided otherwise because I really would rather wrestle competitive than just laying down begging. And I'm an average guy, so skilled female wrestlers can surely beat me.

I always though you were an OK jobber, lol, even though you weren't into the mixed wrestling like, say, "Tom Jackson" was. MMEd though, was not my ideal of a jobber

My fantasy is that the "jobbers" will one day rise up, revolt, and try for victory on the mat.
And who knows, the vidbiz might even get some good videos that way; quite undeservedly, of course.

Well C., to be brutally honest, I bought my way into it. As a serious sessioner for 15 yrs at the time, in '92 I met M. M. Ed, and offered to finance his startup company in the "silver age." He convinced me to film for him, and I finally ended up in front of the camera for dozens and dozens of his videos... well over a hundred of them as jobber, and another hundred as cameraman. I did similar things for Heather Fine briefly, and then Kandor and Drew's startup, ScissorVixens.
I prefer not to elaborate on personal tax considerations, but will be more than happy to provide you with my take by private message.... suffice it to say I do everything by the book, having been involved in finance for much of my career.... We must always do things the right way When The TaxMan Cometh
