Default The future of mixed wrestling?

Am I alone in my perception that "the golden days" of the mixed wrestling/scissor/session scene may be behind us? This is in no way a criticism of the fine women/companies that are active today, I just wonder if others have the sense that there are more people leaving this 'world' than are coming into it. Other guys have told me they feel this way as well.

I have to think that someday people like Drew, Bill Wick, Jay Fox, and Jennifer are going to move on, and at that point I'm worried that we won't have a reliable way of "recruiting" new people.

Women are getting stronger, more fit, and more physically capable than ever before in history, therefore it seems like we should be seeing more of a surge of activity in this arena. There are so many good candidates out there, and so many women that, I think, would be very successful if they ever decided to do sessions/videos.

The USA does seem a bit more fragmented compared to the past.
Europe though has had a great run in recent years (current Covid blip exception of course) and feels goes from strength to strength.
A very active UK scene of sessions, events, producers.
Fightpulse in Czech producing superb content and getting ito events (Hes a young guy running it ! )
Antschas events and productions in Budapest. Fighting Dolls and Alphacatz in Eastern Czech.
One of my favourite things over the last 2 years has been the Italian renaissance. From nowhere, their producers and wrestlers have come to feature some of Europes favourite names and are making some great content.

We've had a historic bull market the past 10 years. That has brought a lot of good talent, as well as some bad through the oversaturation of the market.

Once we get past this recession, if guys still have the money to spend, there will be women in the scene who do this as their job, and there will be (mostly) men running websites who figure out how to turn a profit. If the next guy (or girl) fails, someone after him (or her) will succeed.

I have been at this for more than 20 years and someone's always going on about how things aren't like they used to be, there's even a new topic every few months around here lamenting that. Nuts I say. Were there some awesome ladies offering sessions back in the day? hell yes. There are also lots of awesome ones today, and there will be enough of them to make looking for sessions worth it in the future. Even as far as producers are concerned, first there was Bill, then there was Ed, and Kip and Drew and Jay and @[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] and so on and on it will go. Be optimistic!

I hope you're right! I actually tried searching for similar threads before I posted this but to my surprise I couldn't find one. I think one thing that's uncertain to a lot of people, myself included, is "how big" the market for this is. There are 12.3 million videos on pornhub, yet doing a search for "mixed wrestling" returns only 2,307, which makes us look quite small (though certainly not a definitive test). I'm just wondering who will take up the mantle of recruiting new talent going forward. The advantage we have over "porn" is that we should theoretically have access to women who aren't necessarily in the "adult entertainment" business. I bet if we could market this stuff in a slightly less overtly fetish/sexualized way, more female athletes would be open to taking part in it.

It will always be around. There will definitely always be demand for it, as we don't choose our fetishes. And once there is demand, there will always be supply - either studios or individual providers aiming to make money.

I'm not doubting what you say, but I'm amazed at those statistics.

I've just been to Clips4Sale hoping to be able to list the most popular fetish categories to see where we stood. I couldn't find a way of doing that, so I just filtered on the volume of Mixed Wrestling clips. C4S has just over 7 million videos, and those that contain 'Mixed Wrestling' is now over 200,000. So that makes us around 100 times more popular on C4S than Pornhub.

There's no way I want an argument or a deep statistical and/or behavioural analysis about this, though. I only jumped in to emphasise that, as you suggest yourself, those results aren't definitive.

If I had to guess, I'd say that's likely because C4S caters more to niche/alternative stuff and less to mainstream porn as pornhub. So we have a greater share of the total fetish market than we do of the overall adult industry.

Which again, I feel is a shame, because I think the idea of women out-wrestling, pinning, and submitting bigger guys likely has a lot of mainstream appeal, or at least potential appeal. Look how much play videos like the Monique Bastos vs attacker and the "jujitsu girl destroys boys in the park" got. I may be in the minority here, but personally I'd like to see a site that tries to portray this stuff as more of an interesting modern social phenomenon, rather than an explicitly sexual/fetish. The site skilledfemfighters sort of comes close to this sometimes based on what I've seen.

Don't agree. I think the UK mixed wrestling scene (covid aside) is the busiest and best it's ever been and is growing.

Great points being made in this thread! Thank you.

I also think it's important to note that the landscape has changed and that we need to acknowledge that. We can't be content to peak in high school... we have to evolve. Now we have social media and we see behind the curtain. So, yes, politics and activism play a role and (unfortunately?) if you want access to the fantasy, you have to step up and make sure real world things aren't done to harm the providers.

This is not an easy way to make a living. And there are real world pressures that make it harder (like the EARN IT Act or law enforcement or lack of diversity/representation). And the providers you are used to get older and move on naturally. Or want to do something else. It's human and part of being a business to expand and grow.

Also, the good old days were good for some people, but things are different and wonderful. Models are now producers. We can produce content we feel good about. We can indulge our own fantasies and fetishes. We talk to our clients in sessions so we know what our fans want. Being in control of our bodies and money makes it a much more enjoyable experience for us.

I'm not saying working for a producer isn't empowering or that I've had bad experiences with producers that are men. But that is less the norm, it seems. And instead of longing for what you're used to, try to give this new dish a chance.

C4S caters more to fetishes while PH is more fucking and sucking. And C4S actually allows models and producers to be paid for their work. Often times, videos on PH are pirated. When people aren't paid for their hard work, they are less enthusiastic about creating.

I did start to put some of my stuff on PornHub... I'll allow views on one or two but the rest are for sale like on C4S. But PH has work to do in becoming a better platform.
