Yes, I do remember giving them an email when I joined. I can see how that could be a turn-off. However I would hasten to point out that in my experience it's a pretty common practice when one joins an online community; I myself just use a separate email for these kinds of enterprises.

But that being said, I'm sorry to hear it's a drag. Maybe I can post some of it here? I'll have to see if there are any easy ways to do that. peace
