  • Dez Desire
  • Rage
  • Anji
  • Alpha Ace
  • Storm/Axa Jay
Now Anji is still in your top 5, a true tribute to her, Dez went from number 1 to 10. Rage, Alpha Ace and Storm/Axa don't make the list.

Ok mate, I'll try then!

I'll continue to mention all 20 I included, and at first I'll just say what I would have come up with if trying to group them in groups of 5 similar to how BoyofWinter had done it yesterday (I didn't read everything else on here since then yet).
Sir, you are officially the world's foremost scholar of session wrestling. You need your own website, or perhaps you should get with Jennifer Thomas about preserving the historical record of these matches on sessiongirls.com.

No, honestly there will be guys who watch many more matches and do many more sessions!

But if my post helps you get a feel for a few things, then that's good of course.

It was quite a long post though in the end wasn't it! I wouldn't suggest it adds validity to my list, over and above what others who wrote less had anyway (not that I'm saying I think I'm wrong either obviously!). I guess like you hinted at, the more input and experiences shared the better for you.

It is nothing to do with me (Zweig is involved though I think), but wrestlewiki does have some details about some results (if you do an internet search for a wrestling girls name and wrestlewiki you'll probably find the relevant pages if they exist...but they are not complete obviously and neither is my knowledge). There are guys on here who do know what happened in a majority of DWW matches though I know too for example, which I don't although I did watch a decent amount of them and followed the website (that is going back to historical stuff not so relevant here though anyway).

I think another important thing to consider here is that Power Rankings are usually up-to-date based on a person/team's ability at a given point in time rather than a best-of-all-time type thing. If some of the matches you described occurred a long time ago, do you still feel like your rankings would be the same if a tournament were held today? Just a thought!

Also, would I surmise correctly from your initial post that this is your top 20 list?

1. Chloe Davis
2. Diana
3. Dominique Danger
4. Izabella Mendes
5. Severa
6. Anji
7. Sheena
8. Tia
9. Venom
10. Viktoria
11. Fabi Antoine
12. Ina Black
13. Master Kayla
14. Veve Lane
15. Warrior Amazone
16. Black Venus aka Sativa
17. Dez Desire
18. Jennifer Thomas
19. Kara
20. Madam Mysteria

Default Re: Session Wrestler Power Rankings

First of all I can't see the value of such a ranking.

To create a ranking by watching f-f matches is totally bull shit.

Most of the matches are scripted and even if the producer asks for real competive he never can be sure to get what he asks for.

A few times I overheard girls at Femwrestle Events deciding themself about the outcome of the match before the match got started.

A different thing of cours are videos from tournaments like NAGA or IBJJF.

Even if you try to make a ranking from personal experience it is not easy.

For example Sativa is disappointed that she isn't able to submit me.
On the other hand she is winning against girls who are able to submit me a few times during the hour.

How to rank her?

An other question is when did you meet a girl.

My first Session with Sorpion I had to hold back some.
One year later I had no chance against her anymore.

Same with Sheena . . .

I can't agree to the ranking from @[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register].

Except DD and @[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] (belated happy birthday by the way) I sessioned with all girls from that list mostly several times.

For me Severa would be first on that list followed by DD and Ina Black.
Despite her size Ina is still moving very fast and kept her skill set.

Next would be Anji, judging by watching some of her tounament fights.

The other girls of that list are nearly the same level and may win one day and lose the other day.

I share you skepticism about all filmed F-v-F matches. I have also overheard, and been told about, wrestlers agreeing to certain scores in "competitive" matches.

Two questions..... 1) Is DD is Dominique Danger or Dez Desire?

2) For clarity, in your experience, are Diana and Sheena a little bit off the very top? You seem to group them more with 'everyone else', than with Severa, DD, Ina and Anji?

Thanks!

Well, if actually today I guess it's similar to other sports: it'd depend on who spent lockdown keeping fit and who spent it eating cakes! But, I know what you mean and yes that'd be a factor I think (my list was based on recent times but not necessarily right up to date, although it could have been a little bit based on all-time best level too in some cases, I don't know - I didn't put Fabi Antoine particularly high up anyway of course and I guess Tia for example would be able to be somewhat close to her best level in modern times whether or not in about 2013 she'd be even better - I'm not sure about that and I didn't have a session with her then either).

Yes, that'd be kind of close at least anyway, although maybe I should just try to adjust it if you do want to use it in a list form 1 to 20 (or 1 to 10 at least) with other submissions of lists. I'll at least move Viktoria up a place, but I'll keep Venom just above because maybe that seems logical in some ways (if them being close is a true impression, but Venom has the BJJ). With that in mind I can slip Tia down just a couple of places, but for sure I think she is a great candidate who can potentially be group 1 even maybe. I'll keep Anji and Sheena where they are then (an alternative I alluded to with Viktoria in 7th couldn't have it like that obviously), so if I have to submit a group 2 order for you I'll say that can be it with just the minor change.

In some ways my own experience could suggest Chloe Davis at number 1 it's probably true! But even before ManInBlack said it I probably would have been thinking Severa-Dominique Danger would be my guess for 1-2 if I really had to guess. Chloe is more up for doing female matches than Severa though I think, but I'm not sure I can factor that in. I'll say Diana can go to 3rd, because from what I know maybe I'd perceive her above Izabella although I guess not at pure Judo, and that'd mean Chloe in 5th I suppose then in the end.

I think Warrior Amazone would go up a bit. Maybe since Fabi might be past her best put her to 15th, and Ina (though I do appreciate those who put her near the top can be correct) in 14th which could leave Master Kayla 11th, Warrior 12th, Veve 13th. Kayla is less known than Veve so it's hard, and if Veve had won in the direct match with Warrior I'd probably have switched those three around or considered Veve for at least group 2 (for quite a while it seemed people held her as the gold standard on the scene for wrestling ability overall pound for pound as it were, and they still might do).

Then maybe swap 16th and 17th (although I know I said the result of a match between them went the other way), and also 18th and 20th (again even though I know I said Kara did better than Mysteria vs Emma Switch, and that'd put Mysteria ahead of Kara).

I guess it's hard to be satisfied (and to avoid arguments or disappointing anybody) but that can be my final call if I have to try to do it (and I'll not get involved now with further comments or analysis about it so I'm making sure to avoid the arguments indeed, not that anybody has started with that to be fair)!

Oh, just editing having seen RNC's question about who DD is haha! I meant Dominique Danger when I typed that in one reply myself (doesn't mean ManInBlack definitely does too though). I think I saw her referred to as that on here since a few years ago, but I should have realised Dez Desire is also a DD!

The girls are friends. They may not want to hurt each other physically. They may want to hurt each others' reputation, e.g. if wrestler A beats wrestler B 10-0, wrestler B may become less popular with clients.

Added after 14 minutes:

When I say I'm skeptical about "all" competitive F-v-F matches, I just mean that I know that some matches billed as competitive are not competitive. Knowing this makes me start off skeptical. When you buy a video, it is easy to tell if it is competitive or not. An example of a 100% competitive match is Diana vs Black Venus with Fight Pulse.

I think that the vast of filmed "competitive" F-v-F matches, especially amongst the top girls, are fully competitive. In my experience, it is the lesser wrestlers that are more likely to agree to trade submissions - and the rate at matches are mislabeled varies drastically from studio to studio. E.g. Fight Pulse have a very clear labelling system. I have never seen a mislabeled video on Fight Pulse. The line is often more blurred in studios with less clear labelling systems.

@[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register] Thanks for the info about the DD acronym (and its past usage on this forum, which I wasn't aware of). I suspected that ManInBlack meant Dominique as I know she has a big reputation. I wasn't certain though as Dez is getting a lot of love in this thread as well.
