Add to this the fact that pretty much every plane ticket and hotel reservation is refundable nqa for the foreseeable future and I'm not sure why it's necessary to abandon things 8 weeks before the event was supposed to happen.
JT made a sound decision. I doubt it was made lightly. I'm sure she was able to look at numbers and curves all by herself.

I live in Nevada. The curve is not down. It is up and has gone up dramatically since the casinos reopened. It was down when the Governor closed the casinos and went up when he reopened trhem.

It's really just a lack of understanding...it takes a month to see the true relief of restrictions enacted now. Then, considering localities will not put the kind of strict lock-down measures in place that it will take to put this thing down...just won't be quelled enough to enable an event like that within 8wks.

Infections are less debilitating to 20-somethings, but even that is a false narrative. Sure, younger folx who get infected are less likely to die, but they're suffering other longterm effects, like irreversible lung damage and chronic fatigue syndrome.

The right thing to do is always the harder choice, and Jennifer has solidified her reputation as a leader by making the decision to cancel the event.

Cases peaked 2 weeks ago and are now trending back toward pre-reopen, unlike in neighboring states. Anyway, I just don't see deciding after the daily updates on July 31st to be significantly less prudent, we've already seen several shifts in treatment protocols and that's likely to continue.

I know Jennifer put her heart into this event, and has done everything in her power to provide a safe, top notch event for people to enjoy. She is always on the look out for what is best for people in the industries she loves.

Though I am sure the trends in cases of Covid played a role in the decision to cancel, I am also certain that it is not the only thing that lead her to this decision. As much as I am bummed out that this is what is happening I fully understand and stand behind Jennifer.

That being said, yes cases are taking a down work arch at this point. But it is also prudent to consider that cases will most likely go up again in August and September as schools reopen. 2020 has simply been a confusing year that has caused a lot of plans to be interrupted. There is a saying, "if you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans." That should be the slogan of this year.

Man I am sad to hear this how about rescheduling it for August or September I am praying and believe that will have a vaccine by then lets pray. However would have been good if everyone could have been tested multiple times at the event but I guess that could not happen.

Cases are not trending down at all. I just don't know what metric you guys are looking at. Nevada has had a 10% uptick in *reported* cumulative cases (including all the cases that would have recovered by now) since the event was cancelled.

July 4, complete lack of leadership from almost every politician in the country, schools re-opening (although I doubt they'll actually re-open) will all lead to a massive uptick in cases. We haven't seen the July 4 results quite yet.

Write a letter to POTUS and tell him you want the kind of rapid testing he gets every day. You're paying for it.

Hi Folx.

Is no one concerned about the potential for this event to spread COVID-19?

I haven't read every single response to this thread, but it is really important for this issue to be discussed. If it hasn't been mentioned, let me be the first.

This event is a very bad idea. I respect the organizer, but it should be a serious concern if she doesn't realize how this event will inevitably and undoubtedly spread COVID-19.

If we had the kind of testing POTUS does, with results available within 15min, I'd say hell yes this sounds like an amazing time if folx can ensure one another's safety. Sadly, that is not the case anywhere in our country.

This event is beyond irresponsible and should be cancelled. There is simply no way to ensure the fans and lovely wrestlers will be safe. We cannot even be safe in our own towns, why would we gather at an event that, by its inherent nature, precludes distancing from one another? It is impossible to wrestle in a mask, it won't stay on and you simply cannot breath.

With the global pandemic killing half a million people across our planet, including over 134k here in the US at the time I am writing this, all within only six months...how can this event be justifiable? The disregard for the incredible loss of human life we have all already suffered is simply inconceivable.

Undoubtedly people will travel from all over the country to attend this event, from states where the virus is indeed actively spreading. Make no mistake, things will NOT be better by September. All you need to do is pay attention to what is happening across the country right now: Atlanta just went back to phase 1 and now has a stay-at-home order; Miami just closed all its restaurants and is on the verge of another shut-down; 7 counties in Southern California just had their bars closed due to the increase in the spread of the virus; hospitalizations are on the rise in Tulsa after the POTUS rally there three weeks ago. Just today the CDC declared 40% of people infected with COVID-19 have no symptoms. Silent and asymptomatic spread of the virus is real and happening every day.

The evidence is there if you are paying attention. Please pay attention.

Jennifer, please, you are considered a leader in this industry. Please be the leader you are, put the lives of the people who make this industry fun and exciting first, and cancel this event.
This is the type of paranoia and unfounded fear - perpetuated by the 24 hr. news cycle - that sends an entire country unnecessarily off a cliff.

Am I concerned about the potential for this event to spread COVID-19? No.

More importantly, why are you to even post this in the first place?

There's a saying on the right - of which I support some views but am not a party of - that goes......."Facts don't care about your feelings."

We are far enough into this thing that we can use facts and actual data, instead of sky is falling "logic" to start seeing some things for what they are.

[Only Registered Users Can See LinksClick Here To Register]

Analyze the above, understand the data and then make me an argument about why Jennifer should shut down her event........or any other for that matter.

Could you link to a more right-wing twitter account? This guy is claiming hospitalization rates are as low as ever in states where people have to get transported by ambulance to a different city because hospitals are full.

Jennifer evidently thought it's not worth the risk of holding a fetish event in an unstable state in September. The average age of sessioning men isn't exactly that young. This doesn't mean you can't do sessions that weekend.
