This is a free fight you've got ESPN as part of your cable package.

Will you be tuning in to watch Thursday night?

Thanks for the tip - I'll either tune in or record it. It's on ESPN 2, BTW.

Shields won, but she's a typical loud mouth savage. She was So tough beating a 3-6 fighter. I hope she fights someone with a record so they can break her arm.

Didn't realize that Elkins had such a bad record, but actually that's how any new fighter should debut. Claressa needs to keep working on her wrestling. Too bad UFC doesn't have a division for the big ladies, but they can't find nearly enough fighters even for featherweight.

It was a tough watch for me. I know it's probably not the case, but there were a few times when it seemed like Brittney didn't want to finish Claressa. Brittney had top position and several openings she did not take. To her credit, Claressa did not panic when she was on her back and she knew how to escape the armbar before it was sunk in by quickly turning into the pressure, but she's years behind the average MMA girl in terms of ground instincts. I couldn't understand why - as a fighter - she wasn't scrambling to try to get back to her feet, where she would have the advantage. Brittney is tough as fuck.

I actually thought it might have been a bag job. In addition to not finishing her Elkins stopped fighting in the third round and made no attempt to. At 3-6 she had no future and could have received an off the record bonus.

Elkin got winded by round 3 and she didn't have the power Claressa has. Those punches Claressa was throwing I am sure Elkin had never seen anything like it. She was as quick in take downs as standing she would have been knocked out clean. I give Claressa credit, she is trying a new sport and learning. I can guarantee had Elkin desired to try boxing and step in with Claressa she wouldn't last 10 seconds. But then Elkin wouldn't be fighting top tier boxers and that's the point, Claressa shouldn't be starting with top tier MMA fighters. So give her credit for crossing over and remember boxing and MMA are sports, street fights are totally different too!

I love it. The winner was much better looking and dominated.
