I mean, put yourself in her shoes. She was addicted to pills at age 18 and some older man paid her money to torture some rats and fish and rabbits. Then she bounced around Florida's porn industry for a decade in a drugged haze, undoubtedly getting raped and abused repeatedly, while unable to maintain any kind of romantic relationship.

Then she got arrested and her real name made national news, inspiring hundreds if not thousands of people to proclaim that she's a disgusting piece of shit who will burn in hell and anyone who touches her or works with her is a bad person.

So now it's unclear how she's supposed to have a relationship or a friend group or a career or anything.

For starters, I don't really think she's that bright, and the ship has probably sailed on making a living the "normal" way (office job or whatever else you had in mind). I guess she was young when she started the porn thing, and at some point she transitioned to this. I assume at some point she ages out, and I have no idea what she does then.

She also went through cancer, and it's none of my business how the finances look, but whatever medical bills she has even now, since she lives in the US, are likely astronomical, especially since she doesn't have good insurance through a regular job.

Although she was preaching back in March or April about saving money and not whining about not being able to work for a couple months, as some girls were doing, I can't imagine many are able to withstand not being able to work for 6+ months as the situation turned out to be. Although I'm sure she saved some money over the years, very few people actually save to the point of early retirement. Most people spend everything they have.

For anything else, Mia posted a few tweets some time ago about her, which may shed further light/drama. Mia worked with her and certainly knows her much better than I do.

I definitely didn't have some of that information, so that's part of the reason for my confusion. In light of what you said, I can certainly see why she "hates life", and I can understand why she doesn't think too highly of her clients and co-producers, but I still find it a little odd that she intentionally vocalizes her rage in such a public and unproductive way. I wouldn't be surprised if half the women who provide sessions don't have at least some of the same frustrations that Megan does, yet most of them don't constantly shoot themselves in the foot by presenting themselves as unstable and unlikable like Megan does.

At the end of the day, if she were so miserable doing this stuff (which again, I'd understand), wouldn't she be happier doing some minimum wage job and getting out of whatever toxic social circle she's in? The answer is likely no. The US is a really bad place to be poor. Rent prices are increasing, wages are stagnant, we don't require a single day of paid-time off by law, and so many toxic employers don't even let you use them if you do have them, no traditional employer is going to touch someone with her past, or her resume gap, especially in a recession, and you cannot pay off medical bills at a minimum wage salary in America, period. The solution to medical bills at that income level is simply not to get sick. Not to mention even if she's healthy, she has to pay for health insurance on her own dime, which is incredibly expensive. My guess is minimum wage jobs tend to hire at part-time hours, which doubly sucks because if it's not full-time, they don't have to pay out benefits.

The bottom line is most people hate their jobs. With her travel schedule, I can't imagine she has time for a healthy social circle, but who knows?

But you're right, she's very negative. I've met some girls in this scene who are (or were) quite poor, and they've embraced the opportunity instead of yelling at everyone they contact. This side of the industry is rather sad to think about as a patron to be honest. As someone who's in a good profession, it's all very interesting and somewhat academic for me to see things like this, but it is *very* stressful to actually live that life, being under constant pressure, having no support system. The stress can shave years off of someone's life. So this job for her where she can at least afford a comfortable life is 1000x better than whatever normal job she could get.

On top of that, people in minimum wage jobs are mostly pretty negative, because their life sucks. She would be surrounded by a ton of negative energy. A lot of people actually want to retire early from their stressful jobs and work part-time as barista or similar because it'd be fun and not stressful ... then they get hit with the reality of being surrounded by employees who are bitter that they were able to semi-retire early. Maybe by minimum wage, you actually mean something like $15-20/hour, but you probably still get a lot of negative coworkers there.

However, one last time I'd like to ask everyone to keep such topics out of there, including discussions about conspiracy theories. If that's not possible, I will have to lock this thread.

Also, my personal opinion on the the Megan situation. Torturing and killing animals for sexual gratification is terrible and absolutely unacceptable. However, is it really morally different than killing animals for food, when eating meat is not necessary? Billions of animals get tortured and killed in bad farming conditions and slaughterhouses each year all over the world. The scope of animal slavery and violence by humans is astronomical. For the sake of integrity and consistency, I hope anyone who criticizes Megan or others for this is at least a vegetarian.

I think it has a place. I admit I'd like a political thread because it makes us feel normal. I remember the first friend I had in this industry I was so happy he liked similar non-fetish stuff. So I think stuff like this is important.

But even if you won't allow politics, the Twitter thread is helpful because it gives us more information that has proven to be extremely helpful.
