Re: Do you think women lose attraction if they beat you?
Perhaps the original poster is correct that a woman who is attracted to a strong guy would be upset if the guy wants her to be the one to demonstrate power. Personally, I think power exchange is hot in both directions, but that's probably not normal. Most people will have a preference for which direction they want it to go. Its been a while since i dated a man and while I would not have won a full contest with the bodies I was with, I was prone to doing a little stretch their legs with mine and hold on top of someone while playfully pinning their hands down. It would get mixed reactions going from anger to extreme horniness, so the problematic nature of it can go both ways.
When I was a powerlifter, while you got the ones who loved the look, the more normal reaction was a "why do you want to look like that?" vibe. Plan B safe option? LOL Fitness is sure part of the package, specially if you are fit yourself. But an average shape guy that's fun versus a meathead ready to hit the posing stage is an easy choice for the fun guy. But what do I know, I like other women also. And women can be meatheads also. A woman who's well trained would wonder why the untrained man thinks he should win. She would wonder why her being good at something means that the other person must then be bad. |

As for whether she thinks herself the alpha, I'm not sure. I rarely see women train upper body, or even dare attempt it. I get the impression that many women, even those into lifting, see upper body as a lost cause. Their gains are really small compared to men, so they just focus on lower. They'll have great squats but terrible bench presses, whereas guys can have okay/average squats but good to great benches. For bench press, I would say that dumbbell bench is much better for strength than barbell. It has greater ROM and there is no bar to act as a stabilizer, given that you have to hoist the dumbbells up and balance them. You're spot on too with the last paragraph, the alpha guy just moves on to younger women when he's older whereas many women will become bitter at this. Even when they settle down with a safe guy, the alpha guy will be the one she would truly want, but she can't tame these guys. |

Re: Do you think women lose attraction if they beat you?
As others have mentioned, it really depends on the type of woman. If you are with a strong, confident woman, she probably won't have a problem with beating you in a wrestling match. If you are with a more traditional thinking, submissive woman, then she will probably lose respect for you eventually. Even if your girl is the latter, you can still get away with letting her beat you on occasion without her losing respect for you.

Re: Do you think women lose attraction if they beat you?
My experience is if a woman has more skill no big deal. The more training she has, the less of a shock factor it is to her to win. In fact, had a few worried about going 100% against me, worried i could not handle losing for real. But if she is stronger, she is more likely to question it unless she is specifically in a strength sport and knows she is stronger than men she dates. I lost armwrestling to a women i was dating. She was a gymanst then a diver when she got too tall so not that embarrassing. But after she beat me armwrestling and teased me her muscles were bigger, she beat me wrestling and said she could not date a man that was that much weaker than her.

Re: Do you think women lose attraction if they beat you?
Some women would not like it, many dont care and some like it.
I have a female colleague at work who often tells us shes stronger than her husband, and you can see shes very pleased with it. Most of my exfirfriends would not have any trouble with them beeing stronger. I would say its a minority who have trouble with them beeing able to beat you, if there is attractions in otherwise. PS. Re: Do you think women lose attraction if they beat you?
I've actually never wrestled a woman since I was six (and lost, guess that makes my mixed record 100% losses), but I'd never let her win a wrestling match or she'd start to consider me a weakling. Which I may be not.

Re: Do you think women lose attraction if they beat you?
I think if a woman sees it arouses the male it is a turn on for them also. My wife is always very ready to have her way with me after she has squeezed and smothered me into submission. Don't think she could beat me in a full blown wrestling match but she will get me in holds during foreplay and then I can't escape as she wears me down and after a couple KO's I'm hers to what ever she wants

I don't think it's in female nature to be attracted to someone they consider physically inferior.

Another wrestler, who I won't name but who I've exchanged e-mails with, has been married, not 100% sure if they still are, but she was way stronger than her husband. She could maybe have beaten him without Ju Jitsu, but with Ju Jitsu it wasn't even close. It wasn't a big deal in their marriage, except, she couldn't scissor him too hard because he didn't like it. She'd scissor him, but he'd tap pretty quick. Anat talked about, in her interview that she's usually stronger than her boyfriends. And lets not forget the countless stories about women who love it when they beat a guy at a wrestle. I think the answer is, it depends. Some women probably feel that way, some don't. |
